Um, I guess this'll be the official WELCOME song thread. I'm not the primary composer, but I'm putting my hat in the ring for some of the more action-oriented themes (read: whatever I feel like composing). Here are two of the tracks I've done.
Rising Courage - A heroic theme, full of bravery!
Against Insurmountable Odds - A boss battle theme, full of struggle!
Fenrir and Bena, the first one is new. I am thinking it would go well either as a plot event song or a late-game dungeon theme. _________________

Who is the primary composer?
It seems that you're both taking advantage of the full freedom of voices with MIDI as opposed to BAM.
I like the music here. It's not too complex, simple enough which seems to be inviting to the new OHR user while still keeping an appeal that says "I could do that too." An all so important tool for a beginner's kit. _________________ Calehay |

I'm the primary composer. The song at the beginning of this thread was the second or third one I did for the project, so I was still getting used to the style of music I needed to write.
As for taking advantage of midi YES. You've no idea (ok probably some idea) of how happy it makes me that straight midi can be imported into OHR now!
Since there's so much music in this game, here's another peek:

We probably shouldn't show anymore more for a while, though |

The Art thread showing off the graphics on the other hand was intended to be a community log of the game's progress. I wanted to show the steps by which an RPG could be constructed, and allow the newbies to see one possible way by which to do it (enemies -> heroes -> maptiles ->walkabouts-> attacks -> backdrops). Showing off the music on the other hand allows some good feedback, so maybe since the eventual project's sources will be public domain, perhaps it'd be a good idea to also make the development process public? |

Yes, very much so, and it will give Bena and Moogle the chance to get affirmed with the idea of their music being welll and truely ripped.
edit: oh bully, I haven't the time/chance to write a title theme, what about a tavern theme instead? I'm thinking Irish Slip Jig. _________________ Moogle no longer owes prizes. |

It doesn't bother me that much that the music will eventually be public domain, I'm just gonna go on to write more (and better) music right after. This is great practice, too. And fun _________________ SACRE BLEU!

Go for the Tavern theme thing, Jabber. It's the perfect time of the year. Happy St. Patties day! _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...
