It's time to find the winner of the One-Map Challenge. Please vote for the game you liked most. The entries are:

- Desert of Stars by PlayerOne
- Cliché Quest by Mike Caron

The poll is open for 7 days, after which I, er someone, will be declared the winner.

I just voted for Mike accidentally. Could you change that to a vote for you? I forgot which game was which, and actually had meant to vote for Versteegen, who didn't even enter, but having replayed the games, yours, PlayerOne, was the best.

I can't see a way to do it myself, but maybe a friendly admin could help?

Your best bet would be to have an admin delete the topic and then start it over, or you could just use your head and make up the difference Raspberry!

I'm almost thinking that this would have had more attention were it in Announcements, right next the original thread.

Either way, even considering Giz's misvote (which in a real election- or contest-type thing would be nullified), I'm still in the lead. Happy

I can't really imagine that anyone would read Announcements and not read General?

I expect people just need a chance to play the games. I still haven't managed to play Cliché Quest myself. I really should.

Come now, you know that length doesn't equal quality. My game has music, for one thing.

I think his point is it's not going to drain your life playing them. It'll take you a half-hour in all.

How many mods does this forum have? I think MC, Player One, and the other many developers should have the freedoms of Mod (or admin) power. But that's just one little pie's oppinion.

To anyone who hasn't played these games yet: These games are worth the play through. Not bad examples for beginners. Don't make yourself regret not getting them.

I really liked the map in PlayerOne's entry (I thought it looked very nice, and it didn't even have any doors), but it simply wasn't very fun and there were a bunch of minor issues he should have thought more about, and the story naturally was very lacking, though it had potential.

Mike Caron's enry is simply more fun and far more entertaining, and certainly works well of of its concept, and there were no holes in the plot because it was a satire. I also love hearing Grant Kirkhope music in RPGs, and this being the first OHR game I've played with midi sound, I was thrilled. I hate to vote for it since it mostly thrives off of its humor, and though it's technically one map it's not really noticable to the player as one map, but it was better anyway.

I vote Mike Caron. May a serious game one day win!

Well I think the poll should have timed out by now, which makes Mike the winner of the One Map Challenge.

Congratulations, Mike.

Maybe one day I will make some kind of winner's banner or something. Happy

So, what have we learned from this experience? We're developers, not game makers. Happy

Good job to you, as well. *extends arm as if to shake*

NOT! HA HA HA! *runs away*
