Ok, I started making the game called dungeon quest for ohr right. Anyway, I finished designing the title screen(took me 2 days on and off to do that), and then I decided to see if the name of the game is already taken. So I googled it out, and found out that Imagetech made the game by the same title for the Amiga.
What should I do now? change the name or just go ahead with it?
On a side note: the game is gonna feature zelda style mini-map, and probably maps as well. I am also gonna try to have custom battle system as well. I am going to release tech demo pretty soon. _________________ Try my OHR exporter/importer.

You can't seriously believe that no one would have taken the name "Dungeon Quest" by now. If you really like the name, stick with it, but it's extremely generic. _________________

its not that I like the name, it is just that name is best suited for this game, unless you like the name Maze Quest. _________________ Try my OHR exporter/importer.

I think he means his game will include the mini-map which appears in a corner while you walk about, and the more detailed map which you access in the menu.
yeah, i agree, the name is lame. _________________

Might I, the Loser King, give you a few suggestions for names over "Dungeon Quest?" Of course a name as generic as that will have already been taken. Here's a li'ol template that might suit you better. Or maybe not. Anywho...
Dungeons/Tombs/Catacombs/Temples/Caverns/Mazes of Legend/Lore/Adventure/Doom/Darkness/Danger/Conquest
There. Any help? Tombs of Doom sounds cool... Plus it rhymes! Anyways, good luck. |

I could've named "Darkmoor Dungeon" "Dungeon Quest." The name as it stands is not entirely symbolic, but it is descriptive and mood-setting. You could try something in that vein.
Originality. Pass it on. _________________

what I mean by a minimap, phc, is this
(this is only an example, it is not an actual map in a game. I was testing a script that produced that map, if you go into an editor, you are going to see only the wall map, the tilemap was added by the script. Why I did it that way? I want the tile to be diplayed only if you visit(ed) the corresponding room.)
However, now I found out a way to do that using strings. It is still in my head, so I don't have a screenshot yet. _________________ Try my OHR exporter/importer.

Titles usally have something to do with the story. Things calle ddungeon quest are an instant turnoff because it says thats all that's too the game.
Taking some of VG's words I can make a not good but not generic name.
Danger Dan's Delve of Darkness Dungeon
Tomb Theif?
Cavern Raider?
Grave Robber RPG!?
I know these names are filthy penis but DUngeon quest just ain't a cool name yo. _________________ Indy OHR! and National OHR Month Contest going on now!
