Rather than have a huge list of replies to bug 199 in bugzilla, I thought I'd just post here that I also have encountered this bug, where rewards from battles are sometimes incorrect. For me, the rewards are twice what they should be. Here are some details:

The rewards seemed fine well on into my game until the last couple saves, where the vast majority of battles give twice the rewards they should. I had an F2 save from earlier so I tried going back, and the rewards were fine again. Between that spot in the game and the place where I am now getting super-rewards, the following things happened:
a) Many battles, including ones triggered by plotscripts, that worked okay
b) Several plotscripts that have been used many times (warping, map loads, etc.)
c) A one-time plotscript that changes the characters in the party. In particular, one hero is deleted, a new one is added, and then there is some movement and a battle. After the battle (which the enemy RUNS from) one hero is swapped out, two new ones are added, and the other old one is deleted, all money and items are deleted, and the party is teleported to a new place (it is the start of a new 'part' of the game)
d) An item teaches a hero a spell

Both c) and d) never occur prior to this point in the game (hero deleting as opposed to swapping, enemy running away, spell taught by item) so perhaps one of those has something to do with it?

PS: The other reporter of the bug seemed to have an issue with enemies having zero HP. I have no such enemy in this part of the game, so this bug must have something to do with something else...

(Psst: Bugzilla really is the best place to comment on bugs because no devs are guaranteed to see this. You can see it took me over a week to spot this.)

Anyway, I thought James fixed '' . bug_title('199') . '' 3 weeks ago? Thats what he said on the report.

Okay, I will very soon have internet in my own house (and in my own room!) for the first time in over a year, so perhaps I will finally be able to test with nightlies. I'll let you guys know (here rather than reopening the bug)

Today marked my first ever use of a nightly! Yeah, the EXP bug is fixed for me. Sorry about bringing it up without knowing all the details of the issue.

Here is a question. If I play a game using the nightly, and save it, will this .sav file still be usable with Hasta-la-QB+ ?

The save format has not changed, so that ought to be fairly safe-- but I may have forgotten something, so no guarantees ;)

There eventually will have to be some major non-backwards-compatable save format changes in the future, but that will not happen until sometime after ubersetzung
