				| So... As you may have noticed, the last bookclub was basically me and the game creator talking back and forth. I thought at first the lack of participation was because of the holidays, so I decided to try to restart discussion about a week ago, but still nothing. It's kind of disappointing that one of the best OHR games generated such little discussion, and it leaves me wondering, is there still interest in doing this? What do you think, guys? If we do another, will anyone join the discussion? | |

				| I participated in it somewhat, but I couldn't say much since I hadn't played it in so long. _________________

				| I'm pretty sure the main problem is that half of the remaining community left for winter holiday and forgot to come back. | |

				| hey im willing to participate... if ur keen to announce the game one week prior to discussion, that will gimme the time to replay most of it... i dont think its fair to discuss a game u havent played in a while or dont remember much, so its good to have a fair week's time to get into it. Also, a theme-oriented discussion would be good. Not just the game, but why it got picked, regarding certaind design aspects, stuff that, through analysis (with or without the creator) we can learn design and development elements from. I think this kind of formula would be good? | |

				| it's a shame really. I would've participated, but indeed, a true discussion requires more than 3 or 4 people. | |

				| It only takes two for a discussion. It's just a requirment that they are both very involved in their discussion.

				| ya but a bookclub... wouldn't it be much better to have this round table feel with many people? I understand why camdog is disappointed by the way it turns out. I wish I had come sooner to be honest. Well camdog, if you're willing to keep doing that, be sure to warn me. I wasn't a big fan of Walthros though, and um, Purgatory was good though. Read through the Purgatory discussion, it had interesting point, but it was a premature discussion I think in that it should've waited until a larger crew/audience had joined the bookclub. I'd recommend more rpg-ish titles before venturing into the "non-classical" ones (which obviously have more to cover) | |

				| SoJ was very RPG-ish. I don't think the problem is what game is focused in the book club. I think it is the simple lack of participation, or should I say, laziness. And if there's more to cover in a "nonclassical" game, why shouldn't we have that? Anything less would be a bit counter-intuitive. | |

				| Well I guess you're right then. Can't really say 'cause I wasn't around anyway.
Seems like you and camdog don't think it can work anymore?

				| until the community rejuvenate, I'd probably backburner the OHR Bookclub until things pick up again. There's no need to run them all back to back. | |

				| yet, there is no need to stop game discussions so... we'll just go back to "comment on games" threads 'till then ah. | |

True, but for the most part the bookclub meetings have been great successes (in stark contrast to this one). Perhaps we should concentrate on doing shorter games?

Anyway, the point of this thread was to gage individual interest, so are there folks still here that would be personally interested in participating in the next bookclub meeting?
