Alright, I'm working on a creation story for the world the majority of my games/books/gamer-related-topics are going to be set in. I'm looking for constructive criticism on this one.
Lore of Beginnings
In the beginning there was Chaos. Raw mana and motes of eternity flowed freely about what is now known as the cosmos. All was potential and Form was nothing, except One.
The Eternal existed as it always has and always will. It was perfect as it always was and always will be. Yet it looked upon the potential and began to craft it into what was.
It said "let there be nothing," and there was Void. Thus was made the buffer of nothingness that protects creation from the raw power of Chaos. "Nothing but one shall exist within this emptiness, and it is through this that all things shall pass when they come to be."
It said "let there be another, in my image." Thus was Luminus created, blessed with the essence of the Eternal. Luminus dwelt within the Void, but knew that its purpose was to create within it.
Luminus said "let there be a lesser potential," and thus that which we know as the Astral was made. "In this shall higher beings dwell to create that which they see fit, for I shall fasion them in my image. These I shall call Aeternic for they shall be infused with my essence that they may be creators of others as I am creators unto them."
So it was that the first Aeternics were created. These beings knew their purpose and who their creator was. There was peace and happiness for they rejoiced in their existence and the perfection of what was. They discoursed amongst themselves and with both Luminus and the Eternal. It was good.
The Aeternics as one raised their voices to the Eternal and said: "Let there be lesser beings as ourselves, who shall also create. Let there be a place that they may dwell, with potential much as our realm has potential. Let them know a portion of our eternity, which flows from the master."
Thus was the Umbra created, a shadow of the Astral. Thus were the Umbrals created, named so for they were shadows of their creators; lesser in every way. These beings were made in the image of the Aeternics yet were lesser in knowledge and power. They knew of the Eternal, but their minds were not powerful enough to realize the perfection that It is.
For a time, it was good, and the Umbrals rejoiced in the perfection of their realm. Then they too began to wish to create. They said "Let there be a place where our creatures may dwell, and let them be fasioned in our image and able to create with that which is."
The imperfect power of the Umbrals thus created the first Plane of Existence. Many beings were made to dwell within them, and were given the power to shape things as they saw fit. Thus were the Planars created, beings that knew only that which was within their plane and that their creators existed. They gave the name of Planeswalker to their masters, who could walk upon the Planes and out of them. Imperfect power of the Umbrals could not create creatures able to particpiate in the Celestial Chorus of discourse.
Thus did these beings, the Planars, create the heavens and the earth and creatures that could create things from the materials of what we know as reality. These were beings much as we are. They named themselves Mages, and named their power to alter the almost static reality they knew 'Magic'. Yet they could not create other beings, and the Planars took pity on them. The Mages were given the power to create others like themselves, equal in power.
For a time, it was good, but Luminus, in his pride, saw that all beings were beneath him and only one above. Thus did he grow to resent the Eternal for its power over Him. In his spite, he spoke unto the Aeternics: "Prove to me which of you is the greatest amongst your kind."
Thus did Luminus' error of pride get passed down to the Aeternics. Each sought to outdo the other and the Umbra was split into portions and moved about the Astral such that each Aeternic had its own pocket of equal size. Thus was every portion of reality below them so divided as well, for all had been one and now was many. They strove against each other, but each was created in the image and likeness of Luminus and thus was each equal.
Realizing this, the Aeternics turned to those Umbrals within their pockets of Umbra and spoke unto one another. "These beings are our creation. Let us make contest against one another through their acts."
Thus they turned unto their creations and said "Prove to thy master that you are of worth." Thus did all Umbrals think upon what had been said. In order for worth to exist, there must be a lack of worth. The Umbrals had no basis with which to prove worth, thus did they realize that they must prove that others lacked worth. Thus did the pride of Luminus fell down to the Umbrals and multiple Planes were created.
Yet all was equal, and the same error of pride and proxy fell down until it reached the Mages, who had no pawns with which to play the game. Thus did their cry reach to the heavens for a way to prove worth against one another. Luminus, in his spite, answered there call. He said "Let there be inequality, that those below me may test against one another. Let there be a way for those worthy to become more and those unworthy to become less."
Thus was all made different, and the power to create was increased in those of worth and decreased from those not of worth. Thus were the games of power played until there were beings who no longer had any powers of creation in them. They were the lowest of Mages, but they had lost magic so they could not be. Thus were they called Mundanes.
The Eternal saw this and was displeased. It called Luminus before it and spoke. "What is this you do? You have made it so that there are beings so far removed from my likeness that they cannot make more of themselves."
Luminus called to the Eternal, "I do that which could do you injustice, for you made me as I am, lesser than you. Why am I not equal to you in power?" In those last words, Luminus sought to destroy the Eternal, and said "Let there be Stasis, the antithesis of that which you dwell in, so your creation may perish." The Eternal was one and could not be destroyed, for it was perfect and simple. Yet the Eternal would not undo that which Luminus had done, for it chose not to destroy, yet it altered Luminus' act.
It said "Let this stasis be known as death, an end to beings when their time has passed. Let it only descend when it is brought upon them by others or by the reality they have made for themselves."
Thus was all saved from destruction, and Luminus' assault upon the Eternal was instead passed down to it and its creation. This punishment is known as death, for it is the final succumbing of that being to stasis.
The Mundanes and Mages had little of the Eternal's essence within them, and thus it was that they came into existence and slowly fell to stasis. Their fate was to suffer the ravages of stasis within the reality created for them by the Planars, for their body would eventually fail them, and return into the base elements from which the Planars could mold else anew.
The Planars were fascinated by this, and made creatures that they might know this cycle better, lest it eventually befall them. Thus were the beasts and plants created, mundane and magical that they might offer the most insight. _________________ "Live by the dice, die by the dice."

Dont write a novel, write a bible! Or at least make your own interpretation, because that was awesome. It made more sence than the bible. Who could expect people of that inefficient age to write something that made sence with their limmited knowledge of ages, and sciences, and other things. (Sorry if my response offends you, but I just had to say it. :flamedevil: ) Nothing but complements to you. *bows, sinks back into the shadows*

*simply blinks*
Well, I can't quite make out what you are trying to say, Leroy...
*prods the words with a stick again*
Try making them a little less ambiguous? Your clarification cast more shadow over the meaning of your words than your first post posessed in the first place. _________________ "Live by the dice, die by the dice."
