The next release of the OHRRPGCE , codenamed Ubersetzung is coming soon. I have been noticing a lot of complaints on the forums about problems with sound in the nightly WIP builds. I would appreciate as much testing as possible before the stable release.
How to help? Download all three of these
ohrrpgce-wip-fb-native.zip
ohrrpgce-wip-fb-native2.zip
ohrrpgce-wip-fb-sdl.zip
Try each one out, and post here any sound/music problems you have.
NOTE: If you have no previous experience with testing nightly WIP builds, please use these only on a COPY of your RPG file, not the original, as there is higher risk of bugs in nightly builds. |

*votes SDL*
SDL was the only way for me to experience music in sound in most games I download. I figured this out when a game that came with its own game.exe had music and my version didn't. This was due to the sdl.dll actually working.
Even though I switched to SDL's sound .dll about a month ago, I am not experiencing any of the problems Chaotix described with his game. |

SDL is my vote.
It is the only one that lets me experience my games with out any problems, and the music does sound a good bit better!
The other 2 versions seem to make my computer lag, and also cuts my game off, mid game. Music is not as good as SDL either. _________________ I drew my Icon!

I only use Native-2, because the name suggests that it is better than Native-non-Numbered. However, in Native-2, I have experienced a few music problems where songs will slow down to half their pace or speed up suddenly. A few instruments also insist on changing roles with other instruments in order to ruin a song's melody (Thankfully not too drastically).
I suppose I'm going to have to give Native-2 a negative vote. |

native2 is actually an experimental rewrite of native. Right now I would expect it to be the least stable, but I thought I would include it anyway since it works (there was also an "allegro" music backend, but it is currently broken, so I didn't mention it). |
