|

I'm sorta new to this and have a question about layering maptiles. I've made a tree maptile with the overhead passability thing (forgot what its called allows characters to walk under it though). I was wondering if there was a way I could set the tree on another maptile, so for instance if i wanted to place the same tree on a grassy area and then on a foresty area I wouldn't have to make 2 seperate tree tiles. I also would like to know because i don't plan on making the tree cover the whole tile and it would look strange having my Hero walking under a tile that has a tree and grass on it.
Thanks in advance. |

right now for overhead tiles the ENTIRE tile is overhead. Currently real transparent layers are in the works but I'm not the person to ask about that. As for having to redo the tree for diffrent tiles (i.e grass, dirt etc), either you can use NPCs in a fancy way. Or you can just put in the work and do it the old fashion way by just redoing the tree tile. _________________ Indy OHR! and National OHR Month Contest going on now!

You seem to be using a wip build, so you can use layers to solve your problem. You won't need to use the Overhead bit, that's the old not-very-good way of doing layers.
I started writing an article on the wiki (a new HOWTO chapter). It's noticeably lacking screenshots, but prehaps you can follow it?
