What exactly do you mean by a sidescroller with tactical 2D battles? Do you mean like the ones in Tales of Phantasia? Or something else. Either way, it will be rather hard to script, and people probably won't want to walk you through it. I recommend reading all the plotscripting stuff that comes with the OHR, plus Moogle1's tutorials (there's a link to them in the Community section of the OHR section of the HamsterRepublic website). Then work on plotscripting on your own, starting small and building up until you have reached a level where you feel confindent enogh in your abilities to attempt making a custom battle system (which is what I believe you want to do), which is very hard. Few have tried, fewer have succeeded.

Moogle was the original plotscripting master, but I think Retrogamer/Tantalus Spade/Demonheat is better. Sorry Moogle :\

Demonheat... that sounds familiar for some reason. Was the he the person who made Earth's Last Stand (or something)?

This is a game that James made to exercise OHR's capability for 2D scrolling games. It comes with a Ready-to-Import script that will establish the gameplay.

Moogle wasn't a god.
I'm surprised that he was such a good scripter, because his intelligence didn't shine too well from reading his posts (methinks).

Yeah, he did Earth's Last Stand (and is kicking it up again, from what I hear) along with Santa's Quest (great game!), Scars of Glory, Siv, ICFBTM, and...um, I know I'm forgetting something else...

I loved Earth's Last Stand, even though the demo I have didn't really that much gameplay. If I still even have the demo... I may have deleted it a while back when I was cleaning up my computer.
