Or three nights if you're picky about details...
I am releasing, unofficially, my game Tightfloss Maiden to the community for Meatballsub's music contest.
Yes, I've held it hostage for six years. Yes, it'll go back into hiding after Oct. 1. It still needs some cosmetic work, some additional maps, etc., etc. until I feel its ready for an official release. However, it is very much playable, very much finishable, and very much in a state to maintain some interest. Therefore, I will allow this sneak peek at a game that was hyped extensively back in 2001, and still holds its own among titles today, to give you guys something new to play, and something I'd like considered for the music contest.
This file will not contain any of the special documents I have planned for its official release sometime in the future (hopefully the near future), but it will contain one bonus: Behind the Epic, Episodes 1-4.
Since this is a "Let's Hype Specplosive's Musical Abilities" announcement, I thought I'd release his work for Behind the Epic, as well, since some of its tracks are great in my opinion.
Those who were around in late 2002, you may remember Behind the Epic only had three released episodes. Operation: OHR shut down before the fourth one was released, as did Specplosive's free time for the project. To date, very few people have seen Episode 4: The Memoria Story. However, now you get your chance. Be aware, though, that it never got a soundtrack.
(If any of you musicians would like to give it one, though, I'd be grateful, as I always wanted to see it finished.)

The specific stuff that has to come first are addressed in the main readme file. It's mainly cosmetic fixes and the addition of three maps (two of which are near finished).
The short answer is probably not until after I release The Adventures of Powerstick Man: The Extended Edition, which is chronologically necessary considering there's a "Coming Soon" preview for Tightfloss Maiden at the start of the game, and I wouldn't want to make a liar out of the preview. That game probably won't be released until sometime between December of this year and December of next year.
There's also the possibility that since I'm releasing this "sneak peek" version now, which is close to the version I plan on officially releasing in the near future (minus the three maps set to precede the "Scorched Valley" that are still unimplemented), that I might go ahead and build the next act, too, which could add another two to six months to production (assuming I just drop my novels to the floor, which I probably won't).
If I had an approximation, I'd say possibly at the end of 2008. Maybe.
As far as a full game goes, not until I finish Powerstick Man. Both will probably take me into 2010 if I'm realistic.
But enough gab; play the game, nominate the soundtrack, remember it for the next Top 30.

Yes, you may post the soundtrack zip file on your site, as long as you include the Music Readme text file that comes with the game. The game itself, however, will go dark in a few hours, so if you want to play it, you need to download it before midnight tonight (EST). That gives you seven hours from now (that second message is more for the people who haven't done it yet). After tonight, if you haven't downloaded the game, but still want it, you'll have to ask me for it.
