Heaven smiles upon Frumpy McFrump, the mighty hero of Vikings of Midgard. Can you hear his prayer?

We are moved to tears by the greatness of the thing.

But seriously, this is totally awesome stuff. Thank you for drawing it!

I named my Missionary "Ronin Catholic."

And yes, this is a good picture.

I love how you did manual anti-aliasing to make it look like it wasn't done in MS Paint. Your picture is great, but only Fenrir managed to convey emotion as to how awesome it is.

My life as a Viking of Midgard, thus far:

...I was chosen from among the masses.
...At first, I was less than thrilled.
...But once I realised that the wolf, like myself, was made in the Image of God, I felt a little better.

The king of their gods asked me my name. I told him the truth.
For some reason, I get the feeling that he would have liked it just as much if I was named "homsar" or "boogerbutt."

Of course, that's just how things have gone so far.

It's quite an adventure. The missionary, despite his lack of physical power, is arguably the most versatile and important character in the game. He and the berzerker carried the weight of my entire team the whole game through.

Thanks! The anti-aliasing is actually a side effect of UFX's "high quality" stretch/skew function. I tend to scan images at a fairly large size, reduce the lineart to 16 colors (to remove most of the gray tones but preserve the lines,) turn the remaining gray to solid black, color the image, then reduce the size (which also gives the image a nice "warm" quality.) They come out very clean this way.

This information is incredibly helpful to me. If only I had a working scanner now.

Sorry if this seems like beating a dead horse, but I have content to add to this thread.

I submitted a piece of artwork to Surlaw for the HamsterSpeak magazine. I decided to wait until it was rejected before posting it here.

Like almost every other piece of my artwork, it is a 320x200 image(encase I want to put it in a game at some point).

My missionary has been dead in my party for the longest time. I rely specifically on using the Valkyrie and the Fighter.

Valk: Spell that kills me, but gives the fighter a ton of health.
Fighter: Attack that does damage based on HP.
Enemy: BLARGH IM DEAD.
Missionary: I'd heal you, but I'm dead. Crying

If you spend time leveling the missionary, he eventually gets an attack that kills nearly anything in 1 hit. Plus, he has a skill that doubles the party's defense, which you can use with the berzerker's skill that converts defense into additional attack power for insane damage. Then you can use heal spells every turn to keep your party alive while the other members attack, which is super useful against the last boss.

Cool game, isn't it?

Skillz

The missionary is usually everyone's FAVORITE viking of the current 8. True, the Valkyrie does have that sacrificial spell that DOUBLES someone's current HP (and this is a very useful skill when paired with the Warrior), but I personally feel he's the best all-around support class in the game. I neglected to mention he'll be getting quite a few more spells this time around, if only to add in a few new ones for the EX-bosses. Other heroes are also getting some tweaks to make them more party-friendly (Brigand gets some multitarget spells, Shaman gets some teir-3 element spells, Warrior gets some cheap Elemental attacks, etc)

Idea Awake - It brings all sleeping or stunned heroes back to awareness. This is especially effective in battles where certain boss enemies (Niddhogg, Hati) like to sleep the whole party at once.

Idea Believe - A spell which DOUBLES a single party member's strength, accuracy, defense, evasion, magic, and willpower. Arguably one of the best (if not THE best) spell of his new ones.

Idea Care+++ - The fourth "Care" spell, it acts just like Curaja/4 in Final Fantasy games, restoring a single hero to maximum health.

Idea All-Raise - Brings all dead heroes back to life at once. This is especially helpful in battles where the enemy can kill everyone in one or two hits, but it isn't any stronger than the regular Raise spell.

Idea Miracle - This spell may rival "Believe" for the spot of best utility spell in the game. It restores ALL heroes, living or dead, to full HP. It also removes nasty status effects like Poison, Sleep, or Silence. Consider it the ultimate recovery spell, and "Believe" as the ultimate utility spell.
