100 NPC is fantastic, it's amazing, and it saved the game I'm working on...
but what about upping it to 256 eventually? I've got a huge map, and it would benefit from unique monsters (you can see all of the monsters in my game). I feel bad even suggesting this because the limit was just raised, but it seems like it might be really easy to change, if its hard to do, then just ignore me. _________________ ---

if you want them all to be perfectly unique then thats a problem, but if they're just repeats of other NPCs then thats no real trouble. Cause the maximum amount of NPCs (including copies) is 300. |

See 'Plan for raising NPC-per-map limits' for the plan.
I chose 100 because it fit perfectly into the existing 'N' lump format. In order to go higher, the format will have to be modified. |
