As some of you know, I've been compiling 30 minute midis for years, but this isn't midi anymore!

It is however, a part of the same storyline, untold as of yet. And it turns out, I saved the best part for last. Be prepared to witness the story of a monk who became an assassin, and eventually freedom-fighter king of a land in unguided turmoil. This is not the usual tale of good and evil.

As I mentioned above, I've moved this story out of the realm of midi. The software used allows me to compose pieces that sound like an actual orchestra, and what a sound it is! Another major difference is I have moved beyond 30 minutes, into 40+ minutes, the general length of a traditional film score, and the pacing doesn't suffer one bit! If you liked Drendaloria or Flicker, you will LOVE this. And I'm not even being immodest.

I urge the curious to humor their curiosity:

Oh, as an extra bit of news the whole thing will be available for download as separate tracks or one full track, and it will also be available as streaming audio on the 'net.

I feel your pain, friend. Here's to hoping your computer has a speedy recovery.

Oh here's some CC.

That brass sounds really mechanical. Machine gun. DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM.

Turn on the round robin.3

Reverb is also a bit heavy. Maybe cut it back a bit. Not too big a deal.

Your melodies in, not only the ones posted here, but all the midis I've heard previously from you are a bit lacking. Not very clear and sound kind of random, and either you go with a very short motive in your music, or try to do a rhythmic track so you could avoid a melody altogether. I myself do that sometimes.I mean that's fine, there are composers who don't do melody.

Also, what library are you using? Sounds like a pretty decent collection of soundfonts from what I hear.

Thanks for the notes and for listening Longe.

I will have to say in my defense though I honestly don't do rhythmic stuff to avoid doing melodies. I believe I do need to reach a new (hopefully genius) level of melodic design but lots of the particularly long winded melodies I've put into this so far were meant to be complex, dynamic and flowing. If they seem random perhaps I'm not delivering them quite right. I'll do some revising and see what comes of it.

Turn on the round robin? Not sure what you mean by that.

I'm using Edirol sounds, mostly.

Ah, Edirol Orchestra, I remember going deeply into that about 4 years ago, very versatile library. However it doesn't have round robin. Looks like you'll have to deal with varying up the brass velocities a lot.

Also, a simple way to make the melodies stand out more is to have the chords play first, that way the listener knows what to expect. And then when the progression is reiterated, bring in the melody, so they hear, "Ok, yea, this is the melody coming in. Nice"

Power chords are still chords. (I know you were trying to be "humorous")
