I have password-protected a file I'm working on, but can't remember the password! And the file is too personal to send off for unlocking except as a last resort! HOW CAN I OPEN IT!? Crying

The password protection is pretty lousy. I recommend that people don't use it.

Some tips for trying to remember your password:

* The max length of a password is 16 characters, so if you typed something longer than that, the end would have been cut off.

* Case matters, so check your capslock key

Personally, when I forget a password, I like to pretend I am trying to think of a new password, and I often come up with the same one.

If all else fails, mail the file to Bob@HamsterRepublic.com and I will break the password for you. You have my promise that I will not look at anything in the file, and will delete the copy of it when I am done.
