So I've got a little list, I guess, for some suggestions involving the OHRRPGCE. Figured I'd throw some out there and see what you guys think of it.
First of all, I love being able to export graphics, it really helps. The only problem comes when I try to import them again. See, I export a lot, so now the file list is insanely long. It'd be cool if the import option would scan the folder for names that match what you're currently importing to. Say I'm working on walkabout 200, frame 4. I export it and don't change the title. Couldn't import then do a search for that filename and automatically highlight the file if it finds it? It'd save a lot of time having to search for the right file is all I'm saying.
Also, sometimes when I go to start editing a sprite, if I move the arrow keys the entire image will move with it. The bad thing about that is you can't undo the move, so it basically screws that sprite. It only happens if Capslock is on when I enter the sprite editor, so it's basically acting like that's held down when it actually isn't. Being able to undo that move would be cool, too.
Previews are awesome, too. Like when you press enter in a field you can type numbers into and it gives you a list of things to choose from (like when you choose a palette). Areas I'd love to see this functionality in include the enemy attack list, the graphics picture for various things (like attacks, enemies, etc...), the items list on NPCs in the map editor... there's probably more, but you get what I mean.
That's all I can think of for now. If any of this is doable, that'd be awesome... regardless, thanks for reading! |

You should rename things too, it's a hassle I guess but I honestly don't know how you could be keeping track of hundreds of files by their number alone anyways. Also, if you type a letter the cursor does goes to the start of the alphabetical listing of that letter so thats cool.

I think the caps lock key was a bad choice for this, I think that you should be able to undo it, and I also think it's a bit glitchy.

I bearly ever use them. I normally just scroll though the palettes, because i can see things better that way anyways. I just don't see the value of being able to see things all at once over being able to scroll though them.
Anyways, input is always great. I'm sure James and the others will be glad to see your interest.
Oh, and if you really want one of these functions to become reality I suggest entering the Heart of the OHR contest. You get a feature added to the OHr of your choice just for entering! |
