For some reason, for the amount of the time I am pressing the right arrow key in the menu editor, I am just unable to find the Shop menu editor for the likes of me. Now I have like a billion new menus going to no use. Perhaps menu 1,000,000,001 is the secret menu to edit shop menus?
I would like to be-able to add some extra customizable options to shops, sure Buy and Sell are great. Even being able to Hire someone or have a nap is a great option. But I want a little something extra... Perhaps if I use an inn script, I could just revert the players health back to what it was before they paid and then use the script to open a custom menu.
Another way around this would be to create a custom menu, which calls script, which then uses a shop. A textbox could also be used in place of this, but if I were to use this menu more globally, say for every shop encounter, it would be need to use a script to either check the current map or something to point to the correct shop.
In the end, this entire ordeal could be easily solved by the addition of a shop menu editor. But workaround do work, I guess... _________________ Current project: Chronoboy Adventures

All the built-in menus will eventually be customisable using slice collections, (rather than menus. I expect that these will include "menu slices", which would probably be editable in the menu editor.)
Because of all this talk about editing slice-based menus, I completely forgot that shop menus are much more like the main menu, and never realised that we could allow customising them with the existing menu editor. I'll try to remember to discuss the details on the mailinglist. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

In Tales 2, I have all shops as menues, and don't use the shop editor for anything other than Inns. The key for me was to have the shop-NPC call the script and pass an argument telling the script what shop is being used. This keeps the scripts fairly clean. _________________ My first completed OHR game, Tales of the New World:
