I noticed at times that the screen can fade faster than I would like it, it also appears to be a blocking command as well, where when the screen fade in with a moving camera, the camera just stops until the screen fully fades in, this completely ruins a cinematic cutscene.

Wow, now that's a run-on sentence...

Say an optional parameter like fade screen in (ticks), ticks tells it how many ticks it will take total for the screen to completely fade in or out. I know a way around this would be to use a bunch of say tweak palettes in a change to manually fade the screen out or in, but this is a lot of work, work that should just be built right into the engine. I admire coding and that, but this would be reticules.

Custom length and non-blocking screen fades are definitely on the TODO list for sometime soonish. Have to decide on how to implement them first, which I've been discussing a little with Jay.

Unfortunately if you try to script your own, your fades will look quite different, because screen fades happen at about 60fps, while scripted fades can only happen at 18fps.
