So, I'm making a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic RPG, and I'm just now getting started on the tilesets. The first thing that pops into my head is "This is going to be tedious as heck." The next thing is that I'm going to have to do this tedious task and end up losing interest in the thing.
Simply put, I can't make upwards of thirty tilesets without wanting to kill myself from the tediousness. Does anyone know a way I could quickly draw tilesets straight from the show? Does anyone have a few MLP tilesets they've already made, such as inside Twilight's library? Would anyone care to make tilesets? Anything at all?
I hate drawing tilesets. Sprites, I'm okay with. Text boxes and story making, I enjoy immensely. The only thing that stands between me and a full-fledged pony RPG are tilesets. :v |

Why do you need 30 tilesets?
Or more importantly, why do you need 30 tilesets NOW?
Really what you need is 1 tileset.
After you have one tileset, wait until you are sure you need a second one before you start working on tileset number 2.
Also, remember that by using layers you can greatly reduce the number of tiles you need to draw. If you look for example at the tilesets in Wandering Hamster and Vikings of Midgard, you might be overwhelmed, but both of those games were started long before layering was possible, so their tilesets have tons of extra tiles that would not have been necessary at all with tile layering.
Anyway, as with any big task, just break it into tiny pieces, and worry only about the next tiny piece, not about the whole. |

Hrm, well, maybe thirty tilesets was a bit of an overestimation, heh. I also juuuust got the latest version of OHRRPGCE, when I was using one that was a few years old. I don't know what layers are. >.<
Well...maybe I'll just keep at it. I really don't want to abandon this project, though...:c |

Wow, if the previous version you were using didn't support layers, then there's a good chance it was an old DOS version!
What we need is a tool that will draw graphics for us! I'll start on one as soon as someone mails me a brain-computer interfacer. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
