Thanks to Inferior Minion Raspberry! , I have to do this again.
[To IM: It's okay. I still love ya! ]

Anyway! *clears throat*

Any composers who want to sign up must read this:

The objective is to take the given melody and write a piece around it.
To help give you ideas, I supplied two uses of the melody:
Celtic
Ska

This melody is in 4/4 time, and in the key of A. You are free to change the key and/or chord sequences used if you choose. PM me with your entries, or e-mail them to me at my address.

After the entries have been turned in, I will announce further instructions.
Have at it! Happy

I'll hold this til the end of the month. I know everyone here has some bit of stuff they have to do, and may not have time to cram for this.

So Entries end on Nov. 1, unless I receive at least 5-8 entries before then.

There will be prizes involved.

What kind of prizes? How do you give someone that's in front of a computer far away from you a prize? I hope you don't mean some cheesy wallpaper, heh heh...

I have to talk it over with Inferior Minion, but there will most likely be prizes from the CP store!

I am now inclined to enter. A bob the hamster clock is on my wish list. Heck, anything with bob on it is sexy.

EXCEPT

my midi keyboard is being retarded and decides it won't be recognized. Wait, thats just Windows XP. Curse you Micro$soft! Curse you forever!!

I think I will convert it to a bam file from anvil studio... That program rocks! I recomend it! Go to anvilstudio.com if you dont already have it. It is fun, and you can hook up your keyboard and record! Big grin

I am not too good with the keyboard.. Oookay...

Gluck all! (stop me if that is cheating, please...HEEHEE!)

Hey Setu, do I have to submit a midi file, or can I do an mp3?

Truthfully, MP3 would be awesome, but that's actually how my study-group site got shut down (and the weekly MP3s here cancelled).

So, if you wouldn't mind, as much as I'd LOVE to do MP3s, I would rather you do MIDI.

And LeRoy, I kinda don't like the BAM idea. I kinda want this to be something people can listen to while they're on in CP, instead of having to dig up the PLAYBAM.EXE in their folder.

But, if you don't have MIDI capability and you want to participate, I guess that'd have to work.

I am so in... not a bad melody... is it ok if we tweak the line a little bit here and there? Or do you want to keep it totally intact? (I'm talking maybe one or 2 notes tops)

Also... something I just thought of... I assume it IS excusable to bring in other themes, as long as this is the main one? (assuming of course we can write a full piece instead of using just that little blurb and writing a 30 second piece)

Also also, how is judging handled? Just curious.

Thankee suh.

no_shot- No problem. You can do BAM if that's all you have.
Jazz Man- You're right on. As long as this melody is your theme, you are free to add whatever else you want to.
