How would you people feel if someone made a GameShark for the OHR?
I'm asking because I created one, and I don't want to post it in CP because I don't think it will bring positive results to fellow game-makers.
Actually, I made it `cause Purgatory was giving me a hard time
Just kidding.
But anyway, gimme some feedback. Do you like the idea, could you care less, or would you hate me for posting it? _________________

This reminds me vaguely of 'The Battousai Project'. For those who remember it, it's supposed to give you level 99 from the start of a game, along with a whole bunch of items to boot, and a ton of gold. Unfortunately it never worked with any game because no two rpg files are ever the same in terms of map design. |

Oi, I think it's a good idea... I think reviewers could certainly benefit from this program. Let's say you're reviewing this game which has awful balance and you just don't feel like spending the whole day level up so that you can check the other aspects of the game (overall graphics, map design, puzzles, etc); this program can be really helpful at times like that.
...other than that, thank god I made the 2nd bossfight in Purgatory cheat-proof

Actually, a bit of revelation, Fen...I made the Battousai Project.
I just created the OHR Angel to be more custom than its predecessor.
This one lets you choose which cheats you want,
AND
gives you freedom to determine your starting coordinates depending on the game you're playing. I can enlarge this if need be. _________________

This would work better if you got game makers into it. For example, build the game so that there IS a cheats thing hidden. Heck, we dont need OHR Angel, just include cheats yourself. :p
By the way, how would you pull it off if the RPG file was password protected? _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

It's not a bad idea at all, and I'd use it to plow through those tedious games which I can't complete out of frustration (and therefore cannot review). If you can do it, Setu, more power to you! _________________

I have tested a pre-release demo of it. For mysterious reasons, TSSE will NOT work with it. It will, for the record, display a 'game over' screen the instant the Angel file is uploaded. Though it could work under certain circumstances
Friday is looking to be a good day for releases. Angel, Triangle 5: Final Mix, and another demo of TSSE. |

Sounds pretty cool. Friend's right, man. I would like to see this Aangel (I like spelling Angel as Aangel because it's cool. ) Reviewing would be easier. It's dirty, but useful. |

And just of note, like it's predeccors (momoney, etc), this won't work with Sword of Jade - but that's intentional

Just for the record, I tried this with Partisan Legacy I, and it doesn't work; it gets really screwed up and runs all sorts of scripts at the wrong times and such. So.....yea. Nobody can cheat on my game! ...not even me..... _________________ * SDHawk has joined #Minnek

It's going to mess up and run scripts that are not supposed to be run. This is something that's beyond my control. Purgatory actually works quite well with it. It'll run a dialogue script everytime you load your game, but other than that, it works out just fine.
I wish I could promise that it'd work problem free, but that's honestly the best I can do.
Also, the .rpg file is not password protected in case you want to edit the Hero Stats and make the game more challenging. _________________

Sounds good. I'm a notorious cheater, anyways. Heck, one quarter of the games I've played I couldn't get though without cheating, I'm that bad. So, I say we should cheat for the love of cheating ! |

whatever happens... happens.
just that the cheat system will not be able to be fool-proof without it being game specific. _________________ If we were a pack of dogs, IM would be a grand Hound, CN would be a very ficious little pitball, and Giz...well, it doesn't matter breed he is, he'd still be a bitch

I've never used Gameshark (Or I can't remember it)
How does OHR angel work? Does it edit save files, fiddle with the OHR's memory while its running, or change RPG files? I'm against it if it produces haxored RPG files.
If your are editing saving games, I have some rather useless information for you concerning tags and global variables- absolutly useless _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
