Review # 1 for Quinn Title screen (lots of effort put in).
Them's Fightin' Words
This game reminded me of the Goosebumps Books (don't laugh I was young when I read these) the ones where you read some of the book and then it asked you a question, if you answer with ans1 then you goto a page and if you answer with ans2 then you goto another page. This game uses the same concept. eg. you walk in a room with a bed you can either sleep or leave the room, if you sleep then when you wake up you must fight a spider but if you leave the room then you get away free. It is good to see a game that isn't an RPG but instead a multiple choise short story. As this game is very short there isn't really much to write about it.
Graphics
Well I can't really say much here because other than battles and the title screen there are no graphics, and these are not very well done there isn't any battle sprites or enemys in the battles and the title screen is just a simple 'The Kings Basement II' in blue with a black background.

Storyline
Well the game is just a story so of course this has to be the best part. The storyline is pretty simple, you are a prisoner (girl) who is sent into the kings basement as your punishment for your crimes, as you are the first girl to be sent into the dungeon the monster king wants you as his bride so you must avoid the monsters but you must also avoid the prisoners as they have made a deal with the monsters that if they find you then they shall be helped to escape the basement. So basically you must avoid everyone by making the right choices to get to the best possible ending.
Gameplay
The only gameplay in the game is the text boxes, but these are well writen and describe the enviroment well. There is also a bit of suspense when you have a choice you are not sure witch one is the better choice, this was very good and it added exitement to a game that is only text.

  Battle
The battles are definetly the worst thing in the game (if you can call them that) SDhawk hasn't even bothered to draw character or enemy sprites, but the reason for that is that this game isn't based on battles, it is for telling a story.

  Map Design
There are no maps in the game, nothing else to say.

  Balance
You never end up fighting a battle in the game there is no map so there are no random battles only ones that you fight due to the plot or if you make a bad choice, but as I said before this game isn't about battles. All the battles are escapable but if you choose to fight they are way too easy it is probably easier to fight them than run, but as I have said twice already this game is not about battles.

Music
The music is average considering there is only two songs (a battle and a main theme). The battle could be a bit faster pased and the main theme becomes very repedative after playing it for the whole game but it fits well with the theme. There could definetly be a few more songs like when you go to the mushroom fields or when you listen into peoples conversations.

Enjoyment
This game will be enjoyable for people who like stories but if you are looking for action then you wouldn't find it here. The game includes a lot of suspense and also some frustration when you make the wrong choice, but without that it would be too simple. The multiple endings give this game a good replay value. This game will be enjoyable for about 90% of the people who play it.

Final Blows
Why is it called kings basement II? I have never seen a kings basement I? Hmm, well this game is differnt to most games it isn't an RPG so it stands out from the others it was a very creative idea and I would hope to see more of these in the future, it is great to see the OHRRPGCE being used for something different.
Huh?! Where is the character?

Huh?! Where is the character?
Final Scores
Graphics: 1/10.0
Graphics? What graphics?
Storyline: 7.5/10.0
I don't get why the king has such a big basement but other than that very well done.
Gameplay: 6/10.0
Well writen text boxes with multiple endings. Great.
Music: 3.5/10.0
Woah! two songs.
Enjoyment: 8/10.0
Suspense is very enjoyable, and it is a change to play a non-RPG.
Overall Grade: B
Final Thoughts
Do you like stories? If you do then this is the game for you. A game with no graphics just text boxes with multiple choices and multiple endings. Also if you like the name 'you' then you will love this game. (how many games have the characters name as 'you')
