Review # 3 for Chaos Nyte
Them's Fightin' Words
Ah Memoria. One of the first games on OHR that I truly enjoyed. But will this landmark game stand the test of time?

Storyline: A wonderful example of what storytelling is all about. Devious twists, top notch dialogue, and beautifully fleshed out characters. Leo stands out as a testament to well developed characters. The story is always keeping you on your toes, right up to the cliff hanger ending. Too bad Royal never bothered to finish this game. The biggest error I could find were some oddly colored text boxes that switched between see-through and opaque. What really stands out is that your choices MATTER. Saying no to someone doesn't simply get the NPC to repeat what he said, you have to live with your actions.

Graphics: Simply breathtaking. Three different types of grass, fountians, REAL staircases...large, colorful enemies...the list goes on and on. Everything looks the best it can be. Fantastic job.

Gameplay: Made before plotscripting, Memoria pushes fake plotscripting to its limits. Maps are large and full of people to talk to and things to do. The enemies are well balanced and battles are brutal and fast. This game just can't do anything wrong.

Music: Mostly ripped of course, but all placed perfectly, and isn't that really all you can hope for? The tower battle music is a bit overbearing though.

Final Thoughts
A perfect example of what OHRers should have played. It's a pity games of this caliber don't come along more often.
