Them's Fightin' Words
This one starts out with ??? and ??? in a conversation. After ??? is dropped into the level ten dungeon by ???, you wake up. You wander around town for no apparent reason and eventually you walk out into the world after getting bored with the town, not because of any "plot". You are forced into the woods because the hero doesn't want to go anywhere else. You wander around the forest until you find a path which you will not see until you stumble upon it. Then you will find out the reason why you are doing all of this in the first place, you're hunting. So you wander around some more until you find a hole. The hero, I forget his name (I think it's Kyle or Gary?), says he can go around. Well you can't, and you stupidly fall into a hole. You run around, killing some undead...wait...how?...never mind. You then find something that has to do with the future, or the past? No, I think it's the present, 1999! Some guys take the object, and tell you that you never saw it. Then they attack you in your home. You fight, and wind up a fugitive. You do a bunch of other stuff, some guy named Kyle(the other guy I was talking about) joins you, you fight some guys, and then...the game stops.

Now that thats outta the way, this game is pretty good! You start in your house, complete with training room and save point. Items in stores and such are horrendously expensive, but you get a lot of money so it evens out. The combat system is great. Each sword gives you a different spell when equipped. I may have to explain this. Slicing opponents is a secondary attack. When you have a "special sword" equipped, you cast a different spell for your primary attack. Like, say, Wata casts a water spell, Flara casts a fire spell, etc. This is certainly a good concept, and is very well done.

The rest of this game is traditional. You can also purchase items that can teach you perma-magic; so you can cast spells without having the sword equipped. This removes the "find-out-he's-strong-against-that-sword-die-restart" factor that would inevitably arise. You can also equip these items. Some will benefit your stats, but my advice is to keep the "Cure" orb equipped. This game suffers from graphic problems. NPCs look laughable, as do the charleston when they walk up and down.
Final Scores
Graphics: 7.5/10.0
Maptiles are bad, but there are a few that I would call good. Backdrops are good, but there are a few that I would call bad. But take notes on the battle graphics, kiddies! They are fantastic. They are the chocolate coin of eye candy.
Storyline: 1/10.0
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHahahaha...oh, you're serious. None worth mentioning, if you can find it, let me know.
Gameplay: 10/10.0
Very impressive. A place for everything and everything in it's place! My favourite item was the Copper Pants. I just laugh when I think about it! All jokes aside, that side over there, the battle system was inspired. Mucho Applause!
Music: 8/10.0
I can't put my finger on it but I could swear that it's ripped from somewhere! Ah well, if it is, drop this score down a bit.
Overall Grade: B-
Final Thoughts
This is truly a great game! One of the best I've seen! I can't wait for them to finish it! This game would get at least a 9.0, if it wasn't for that whole plot thing(or lack thereof) dragging it down like a bad meatloaf.
