Them's Fightin'
Words |
This story begins when a boy wakes up in a forest. He doesn't know why he is in the forest, and according to the preview in the gamelist, James, the boy, is "about to discover a dark secret".
Graphics |
The graphics were well done, and the walkabout grapics were very realistic, yet stayed 'cartoony'. The forest was very attractive, the trees look real, and there are rocks and flowers to liven it up. The forest did need something more, as with a few animated tiles, i.e. moving flowers and trees, the game would be even more realistic.

Storyline |
This game is without much of a storyline, as most demos are. You walk through the forest, fight some Blobs, and walk into a small hut where the demo ends.
Gameplay |
The gameplay was good in most respects, and used the 'feature' that shows the name of the attack as well as the damge. Another nice added feature was moving NPC enemies. Many games should use this feature, as it creates depth, and gives the game a hint of strategy.

Battle |
The battles were generally easy, and a small amount of button bashing should keep the little blobs in line. The hero graphics worked very well, and were not faulty in the slightest. No weapons as of yet, but it still is a demo.

Map Design |
There were only three maps in the game, and although small, were rather attractive. The tiles meld into one another, and this makes it all the more realistic. Nice touches, like flowers and rocks, add to the realism.
Balance |
The game is well balanced, and the battles are longer than needed, but it adds to the gameplay. The game should be longer, and although a lot of effort has been put in, there are 48hr games that are longer.
Music |
A small few songs are featured within the game. They are package with the creator. Well placed though.
Enjoyment |
The game was enjoyable, although I can't seem to do anything within the game. The character, James, was very likeable, although he didn't say much.
Final Blows |
This game should be avoided, unless a full version comes out, which I will be grabbing and playing immediately. It is probably best used for killing time, or getting rid of an itch on you index finger (or whatever finger you press the enter key with).

Final Scores
Graphics: 1/10.0 |
The Forest was rather attractive, but needed some life breathed into it. The house was well designed, and the table and bed were well done.
Storyline: 1/10.0
This game, having only four textboxes, doesn't really have a story. A shame, really, as this game could be better. |
Gameplay: 1/10.0 |
Fun, but nothing new. Really needed to be longer.
Music: 1/10.0
This game's music was ripped from the creator, yet well placed. A fine job. |
Enjoyment: 1/10.0
Overall, it was mildly fun, but really, dont play if you are looking for a ff1-6 clone. |
Overall Grade:

Final Thoughts |
The game really needed to be longer. Some improvements could be;
*Fixing the overhead tiles,
*Making it longer
The script at the start with the sleeping James (drooling) was a nice touch. |
