vs. LeRoy_Leo
A sticky situation that will keep you trying over and over and over. I think I'd give you about 100 tries before you go crying to your mom.

Review # 1 for LeRoy_Leo A sticky situation that will keep you trying over and over and over. I think I'd give you about 100 tries before you go crying to your mom.
Them's Fightin' Words
This game is pretty amazing for something made in 48 hours. One thing is for certain; that this game is a prime example of stick-to-itiveness and determination. And it is also so short, that one might as well check it out.

Graphics
Done by RMZ. I know this was made in the production phase of Halloween Quest 2, and it appears that you have used some of the graphics from it. Either that or your style is just--- solid. Excellent. I liked the graphics overall. They fit the story very well; light hearted and cartoony. They weren't terrible, but they weren't very realistic color wise. The color shades (mainly in the trees) were to far apart. Dark shades ran right into the light shades. Assuming that was the style RMZ was going for, I have no suggestions for him.

I also would like to mention that I loved the cut scene where the wolf took off his granny costume. That was incredibly smooth. It puts a lot of animations in OHR land to shame. Of course, I have to admit that from a fellow artists experience, I realize how easy it is to animate with RMZ’s style. The colors are not so complex, and thus it is less off-putting to achieve such effects. None-the-less, he worked with it and Worthy’s script was smooth. That is what is truly important.

Storyline
The story is based off of the Lion and the Mouse. There are a couple differences in this story from that one. That is also a good aspect to the game.

'Dialog was done by RMZ. Troy remains cool in all situations and sometimes comes up with half witty things to say. He tends to do things for no logical reason, like rescuing a potentially lethal troll from Humans who mean Troy no harm at all. All I can say to this is at least it all ends well.

Gargan; well, let’s just say that he isn’t the brightest guy. I am sure we can relate to his confusion, though.

Gameplay
This adventure does this aspect well. It is done entirely in the form of mini games. This was a breath of fresh air for me. This game is a short play through. It is short and to the point. What more can you do when you have a two day limit, right?

The games where you had to punch the left, right, or up, down keys were so-so. The cool thing was that you had to do it fast and constant or the power gage would go down. I asked myself through this whole game "how did Worthy do this?”
The other two mini games had more action and were much better.

The race: This was hard to say the least. But once you get the timing and location of the oil slicks, it becomes less of a challenge. Watch out, the wolf uses them slicks too! Also, I found that he is unaffected by the obstacles. Of course, this only adds to the fun.

The fairy song: As ridiculous as this game seems, it is very difficult. Running from music notes and hunting for the color that Queenie missed is no walk in the forest. There aren't too many stages in this puzzle. Thank god, or I would have given up.

The shadow puppet show was a bizarre game. Basically, just choose key numbers 1 – 9 and hope you get it right. This is a game of chance instead of skill, the very concept of it struck me as neat (for lack of a better word).

  Battle
No battles in the sense that we are used to. Troy is good at sneaking around and running away though. It just goes to show that violence isn't always the answer, kiddies.

  Map Design
'Very linear. However, I guess this game doesn't need to have any secret items or side quests. It's all in the mini-games, so a complicated map is unnecessary.

  Balance
The mini-games were not too cold, not too hot, but just right. It might take the average person several tries to complete the race and a few tries to do the fairy Queen’s song puzzle. Also, if you don’t save before each puzzle, you will regret it dearly. Although at times the scales are tipped a little to far to being impossible.

Music
It goes with the graphics. It tries to keep ‘colorful' (bright) and upbeat.
It is such an odd selection though. 'Needs more Looney Toons…

Enjoyment
Although short, this was quite fulfilling. I could play it through at least two times and it still was entertaining by the third time. And I could do that in less time than I could play through a lot of other games ONCE. No time wasted.

Final Blows
Let me recap what I have said in one amazing run-on sentence. The graphics fit the story, the story fit the contest requirements, the music fit the story AND the graphics, and the games were, for the most part, breathtaking. A game designer really can't ask for more.

It's sort of like a fairy simon says, only with bloody homicidal music notes chasing after you.

Final Scores
Graphics: 7/10.0
Bright. ‘Maybe too bright. It sets the mood and atmosphere good. Just not that detailed.
Storyline: 6.5/10.0
I did like Troy's character. He is cool and kind hearted. This is a good translation of the classic fable. And with a good moral: If one is kind to one's enemy, they might become one's friend.
Gameplay: 10/10.0
Mini-games. This whole game is one after the other. And the team pulled it off well. No complaints, no regrets.
Music: 7/10.0
Appropriate to say the least. Not the most awe inspiring, but it fits--- "LIKE A GLLLLOVE!" Still; even I think my 7 out of 10 is almost too generous.
Enjoyment: 10/10.0
Any game that one can willingly play over more than once is good in my book. PS: It gets an ‘A’ because it was something made in two days. You have to give something for effort, you know.
Overall Grade: A
Final Thoughts
A marvel, in my opinion. And to think it was all done in the small window of two days... That takes guts (and that goes out to all of the contestants of this one). ‘Gargan and Troy’ is a very quick play through and yet remains one of the more challenging games on the OHR shelf. Good show, RMZ and Worthy!
