By request. The reason I haven't posted any until now is because they don't have a lot of detail to them, and I was asked to post some, so...

I love this enemy...

First town zoomed out.

I kind of like and hate this dirt at the same time. I like it because it's pleasing to the eyes, but I hate it because it's hard to create shapes with and doesn't have a lot of detail too it. I've tried putting detail to give it a more dirt-like feel, but it ended up looking too 'rocky' and protruding. To summarize: the dirt needs a complete overhaul.

In this screenshot, you can see how boring my wood houses look. One simple fix I need to do would be to change the shading a bit on the roof slopes so the roof slabs won't look curved. I *do* like my own water quite a bit, though. >_>

Sheep and pig rancher, just to add a bit of substance to the forest town. Again, you can see an incredibly boring looking building.

Children having to tend to some corn and tomatoes. I kind of rushed on making the corn and tomatoes, and I don't even know if they can grow together like that!

I think it looks pretty good so far. When are you expecting a demo?

I have successfully planted corn and tomatoes together before-- although they get attacked my the same pests, which means they are not ideal companion plants.

How much praise do you require before you finally release this thing?
As always, everything looks great; however, the Teethrn looks like it's suffering ("I can't close my mouth!" ;_;)

Not for awhile. I want to get at least 20 minutes of gameplay and a bit of variety in what you can do before I release a demo.

Ah, ok. I'll fix this then.

None. Moogle1 asked me to give him some screenshots so I figured I might as well make a Journal post since I've been showing a lot of people anyway. >_>

I don't even have any gameplay or much story at all, so I can not guarantee it'll actually be a good game.

The teeth closes its mouth only when someone's head is inside it!

Whoa, James actually IS a farmer?!!? I guess I always thought that the "When is the next update?/I am working on it./Work faster!" cartoon was just for the fun of seeing a random farmer being beaten up by a hamster.

Graphically this looks plenty good to me. I'm quite a fan of your sign for the inn (at least, I assume that's what it is). Maybe making the trunks of the trees a little thinner might look a little better...

I just made the dark clumps of the grass tiles less clumpy, that way the grass looks less "deep" than what it was before.

Y-you mean you've never played Wandering Hamster?

Uh oh. Should I be ashamed? I never played it at first because I didn't have the internet all the time (and just downloaded the engine). When I went to school I barely used the OHR at all, except to occasionally work on my game. Then after school I again didn't have the internet, and never downloaded anything except new stable releases. Now I do have the internet, but I spend most of my free time working on my game or trying to help people on these boards.

In all honesty I've played next to no OHR games. I like classic DW-style RPGs, and there seems few of them here that are complete. I've actually been planning on doing WH when it gets updated (I've given up on waiting for it to be done). The only 'famous' game I tried to get into (for about a week) was Wingedmene, and I didn't enjoy it very much, honestly.

Okay, should I start running now?

No, but you should play some OHR games until you find one you like -- if for no other reason than exposure. Find out what the engine can do, gather ideas, and so on. I recommend Sword of Jade and Darkmoor Dungeon (though the former is probably a six- to eight-hour game; plan accordingly).

I second Darkmoor Dungeon.
