Well, my last journal got deleted.
Anyway, I had been working on a game since the 4-map version, and updated it to match every new release. I had made extensive use of every feature as soon as it was added.
But then I looked at some of the other games here, and realised that one user had not only surpassed my graphical glory, but had subtlely woven Christian messages into his games. I was shocked.
I decided that with someone that awesome around, I need never post a game ever. So I deleted pr0n.rpg off of my computer, emptied Recycle Bin, ran Disk Defragmenter, and bought a new computer. And unlike everyone else, I never listen to James and make backup copies of the games I make.
My game contained just a little bit of everything that makes the Internet special, none of the graphics were ripped, the music was all public domain(but not the kind that came with the engine), battles were challenging(without being Nintendo Hard), there were no spelling or grammatical errors(unlike my posts, I checked everything out a hundred times and had my English professor play the game through), and there were no instances of multiple characters speaking in the same box. There was a user insert character, but he was a barely noticable NPC halfway through the game. _________________

You mean goatse and tubgirl?

Why do I doubt this? Unless...do your parents give you a Homeschool college education? Is such a thing even possible?

Can someone please tell me how this is supposed to be a good thing? I'm baffled. What's wrong with saving a couple bytes here and there by squeezing textboxes together?

There always is.

Like in Earthbound, like in Pokemon R/B/Y, or like a typical OHR game? _________________ "I didn't start the flame war;

I am so sick of seing this. What's wrong with fantasizing about bestiality?
(reads Ronin's other journal)
Oh, right. Animal rape.

More like All Your Base and Over Nine Thousand.

If space were my only concern, I'd be making games with ZZT, not the Official Hamster Republic Role-Playing Game Construction Engine.
Multiple dialogues in one box look terrible.

Umm, I've never played any of those. Please elaborate.

I deleted the only one screenshot I ever took(which I also used as the game's title screen) along with pr0n.rpg, so I guess it never happened . _________________

In Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow, you can go to a game development studio in one of the towns. It's full of programmers working on the game you're living in. You can also look at the computers and get messages like "Better not look at the ending!"
I've never played Earthbound, but according to Game Informer one of the characters was a talking dog that represented the game designer. He gives you a phone number where you can give him feedback on the game.
In most OHR games, the author makes himself one of the following:
- The main hero
- The king of some country/similarly important figure
- A major boss
(personally, I've done all three, sometimes in the same game)

You also played ZZT? That's amazing! _________________ "I didn't start the flame war;

Well, anyway, my game doesn't exist so I'd might as well lock this thread. _________________
