This isn't in completion yet, but it will be soon. "But what exactly is this, and why do we care?" you might ask, it's to show people (mostly noobs, cause I don't expect a master scripter to want to know how to do this) how to do the FF4 air ship effect. I hope you can excuse the ugly graphics(these WERE going to be the Rogue Knights graphics, but I redid them and made them better), and download this.
I'v been trying to do the FF5 and 5 airship effect, but it's basically impossible. I even asked Fenrir. He was amazed at the FF4 effect (mostly cause I did it) But he had no idea. Monhear giving up too soon and said "It's impossible to do it in OHR. Even if you could, it wouldn't look right" I don't know. But just download it and give it a shot.
Upgrade soon.... |

I don't get it. What's the difference between the "FF4" airship effect and the "FF5" airship effect? |

Airship effect?
What the hell are you even talking about?
The OHR already has vehicles, and if you mean the scenes, those can be done quite easily with maptiles. FF5/6's moving cloud backgrounds are also doable. |

FF6 used mode 7 scrolling, which is so close to impossible in OHR that it's not worth attempting (you might as well pre-render a 3D world for that much trouble). _________________

And no, I meant the effect in FF4 where it looked like your above the world. |

Oh, OK. I kind of have to agree with Moogle here; it's not really worth doing. |

FF4's "airship effect" was a zoom-out, pretty much from what I remember. Could accomplish this somewhat by creating several tilesets and swapping them quickly to create an animation effect, then changing map size when animation is finished to scale map appropriately. Would need an algorithm for determining location on original worldmap based on location on high-altitude worldmap. _________________ UP DOWN UP DOWN LEFT LEFT RIGHT RIGHT A B START |

Finally someone who knows what I'm doing! But I'm not even half finished. |
