What exactly is going wrong with the level editor? It doesn't seem like it would be incredibly difficult. _________________

Yea, that's what I thought. I have it set up, to record a number (that corresponds to a tile piece) in a variable that corresponds to a tile place. That works fine, aside from a few bugs I suppose. The problem is when I go to load the map. The load feature doesn't work the way it should.
In all honesty I really haven't given it the attention it deserves. I've been focusing on the rest of the game. I don't really plan to scrap this. If anything I may just limit it to 1 created map at a time.
( see the problem is that when you pick which map to load some of the tiles don't appear, some of them appear as the wrong ones, and sometimes the whole map just doesn't appear at all. I'm pretty sure it stems from having too may variables with almost the same name flying around. Reducing the map creator to 1 map should fix it. Then the player can just store custom maps in .sav files. And perhaps share them.) |

Thanks for the interest.
The game hit a few snags, but is basically up and running. It needs a few more levels, some credits, the custom level maker needs to be finished, and then some testing and bug fixing.
The problem is that I'm starting school, starting a new job, and moving in with my girlfriend. Thus, it's had to take a back seat for now. I will most likely miss the contest deadline for the "Finish your dang game contest" and this "dang" game will remain unfinished at that point.
But fear not, I'm considering releasing a demo version near the end of the contest, if and when I figure out how long it will be before I will be able to finish this.
This project will get finished, I'm way to excited about it to not finish it.
And again,
Thanks for the interest. |

So i've been working on slimes lately, thus I figured I should update my progress report.
-I only need to do 1 more stage.
Though, spoiler alert, it's requires a good deal of scripting
-The custom level builder is still in early prototype stages. It's very buggy and doesn't really work.
-Credits still need to be done, though this is mainly due to wanting to wait till I'm sure I have all the testers on there and I'm still thinking up ideas for them.
-There are still a couple bugs that I need to address, and some of the levels might have to be redone because the testers say they're too hard, and honestly I think I've made too many games that the players found too hard.
-other then that there's just some other little things I plan to put in the game to give it that extra little something.
DEMO: I still haven't decided on whether or not to put out a demo. I will if i get 3 more people on here asking for one. ( This doesn't include you binoal, you techniqually already asked )
It'll most likely be stages 1-25 and not include the custom level editor. |

How far are you from 100%? And have I asked for a demo yet? _________________

@binoal: No, but thanks for the enthusiasm.

Percentages are a tricky business. I still need to do those things posted above. after that it would be 100% provided there's no bugs that I overlooked.
I honestly don't know when it'll get done though. I assume it'll take me about a week per task. so about 5 weeks.
Oh, and no, I don't think you have. |

I'm moving the progress journal for slimes to slime salad.
I may still post updates here, and I'll definitely respond to comments here still.

Other then that, I'll let you know when I plan to launch. |

Going to shake some dust off this journal. I AM still working on Slimes. Work is going massively slow, though I got a good deal done thanks to being sick. (I also worked on Spoonweaver.com a little.)
Anyways, I don't know when the game will be ready for release. I'm being pretty anal about this project, and trying to make every tiny detail great. However, this is proving very time consuming and I kind of want to move on to different projects at this point. The level creation system is going to be cut. The first try didn't really work great, loading wise, and I just don't have the time to fix the massive amounts of bugs in it. Perhaps I'll release an expansion or something. Other then that, there's only a couple things I need to do, so I could very well be launching this soon.
Don't hold your breath though. |

Neato.
I assume you mean the full version: I don't really see the point in a demo when the game is nearly done, other than as public testing. Which isn't a demo. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

Getting ready to upload this.
Might be a day or two though. I still need to play through it, and have 2 others do the same to check for bugs, but the game is done and ready to go.
Hope you guys like it! |
