(This is not my first experience with castle paradox, and this is not my first experience with ohr.)
I'm currently at the beggining stages of developing a new game which is, for now, going to be called Necromancer. I'm going to post any updates about it on this journal, whether anyone cares or not.
What's done so far:
-The opening scene and the base of chapter 1.
-4 heros graphics and stats
-Portraits for 4 characters (including varied emotion portraits for the main character)
-a few attacks
-All but a couple of songs needed for the game
I will post a screenshot of the game whenever I can, but I don't work on my games that often.
(I had an account on this site along time ago, that's probably still active, but I didn't like the username, the games, or the forum behavior, so I decided to create a new account for the start of this game.)

Good for you. If no one else, I'm looking forward to your updates. I'd bet I'm not the only one, though. _________________

Fresh starts aren't a bad thing (I would know.) Good luck on your endeavors. _________________

Welcome back. I guess you're saving the game description/pitch until the screenshots. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

I'm finally adding the screenshots/description that I should have a week ago.
Go here for the description
http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=968
And here are the screenshots:
Castle Courtyard
Teleportation planes
Fighting.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to post them with any better detail than this. |

That's a pretty creepy font! And those are some not-too-shabby graphicks. |

Looking nice, though I am not a fan of the battle background in screenshot #3. That floor pattern gives me a headache and doesn't gel with the wall or the hero/enemy graphics. |

The floor color for the inside of the castle changes from night to day, I still need to un-pixelate the backdrop screen for the fights though.
But till then, heres some screenshots from the first chapter, which I will release as a demo once I finish all the sub-quests and work out plotscripting errors.
This is actually from the opening, but I wanted to wait till I put in the trees to show it as a screenshot.
The orbs, which you get from exploring and from doing sub-quests, give plus 1 in some stats, since I made every character so that leveling up would only increase their stats by 1.
I hadn't posted any text boxes with portraits before, so heres one.
Another fight scene. this time with an alp, which kills itself and transforms into a larger alp.
You may have noticed that you get 4 characters already, when it's only the first chapter. There will be alot more characters, so you can eventually customize your party to fit your Rpg strategy. |

This looks awesome, the one flaw I can see here is that the in-battle selected command highlight colour makes the text near unreadable, I would sugest a slightly brighter hue of purple on the text as a remedy, that aside, these are some of the finest graphics I've ever seen, keep up the great work, this is going on my list of to-play game this year :p |

Quote: | Check out worthy graphics (Beach) for the best trees ever! you could use that basic formation of them. Although, i suppose it would take up more places in your tileset

I couldn't find the site you suggested, but I did add quite a few new tree tiles, including half-trees, that help jumble them up a bit. I'm also thinking of making a vian sprite sheet for your smash bros. style game. I figured he'd be like mewtwo and Lucario. |

As far as the sub quests go, I haven't had any luck fixing a minigame that I added to the main story, and I might have to completely remove it or replace it.
I already added a resident evil allusion with a remix of wesker's theme to the beginning that gives one of your characters a special sword attack.
And thanks to my teacher, I now have that Madagascar 2 song stuck in my head and I ended up making a remix of it, but I don't know if a madagascar reference would be fitting to this game, which is meant to be serious.
Other than that, I have no idea what to make for sub quests. Maybe I can look past my desire to make allusions for once. |
