O.P., I suggest finding ways to create more 'diagonal lines' in your maptile design. The designs you have all suggest vertical and horizontal textures.

Even the floor tiles, though horizontal, are drawn in a way that creates diagonal 'lines' when tiled.

Not bad, but I think your color palette is pretty drab, I'd consider editing the master palette or making some color changes. You could have more interesting colors.

Also, I second(third?) that the sand needs to be fixed, but is a nice touch.

The character's eyes are not a good color, too pure aqua blue, if you want blue glowing eyes, that's totally cool, but don't use colors from MSPaint's default palette.
