|
|
Well, I got my computer all together and everything. It booted up just fine, when I went into the setup configuration program, it woudn't detect my hard drive. So I opened the computer up and I find that the hard drive isn't getting any power to it. I then try a different plug, same problem. So I take a close look at the hard drive and I find out that one of the power tabs on the drive itself is BROKEN!! Now I might lose everything on my computer unless we can find a way to fix the broken tab. |

I'd advise against fixing the tab, unless you have really important data on there you need to recover. And if you DO fix the tab, I'd put everything from that harddrive onto another one fast, because there's a pretty good chance that a fix like that isn't going to last very long, especially relating to the powering of the drive. |

I hate broken pins and plugs. But the power plugs are study. What'd you do to that poor harddisk? _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

Well it got dropped one time when it was moved into another computer and it hit the kitchen floor. It worked for a good few months before it just crapped out.

You are a horrible, little man! First you drop the poor thing! Then you leave it working for days on end?!
I'm calling the hard drive abuse center on you! _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Well, I'm getting a new hard drive to replace the old one, but I am still going to get the old one repaired, so I can get my important files off of there.
My new one is going to be better anyway |

You're not PAYING someone to repair it, are you? Because that'd be pretty stupid right there. |

No, the guy did it for free, because he owed my dad. But the thing will warm up and the disk won't spin. So all my hopes for that drive are lost. But if you take a look on the bright side, my new one will have twice as much storage space. |

I just noticed this. Max you might want to edit your post and fix that. _________________ "There will always be people who will tell you they hate what you made, or like what you made, and will tell you that what you did was wrong or right."

But he practically lives in his computer anyway, so why bother. Amiright? _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...
