Well, like I said, no matter who wins, life will go on. If life as we know it were truly threatened, I believe people will stand up and fight. I have faith in people. I also believe that whatever happens was indubitably planned by my creator and I feel safe with God's decisions. In short, whatever happens was meant to happen. I am at peace.
The only qualm I have is that the Democrats will have the Presidency and the senate. There will be no balance.
Aside from that, it's still an exciting race. Doesn't matter who wins as long as we, the people win. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Too bad we need a loser in this thread, and you're the leading candidate. |

Thank you, Longebane. That was very mature. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

You know what else is mature? Accepting loss. _________________

Have I lost? No, McCain lost. His supporters have not lost. The only way we can lose is if BO turns out to be a good guy after all. Let's wait a couple years and decide then. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

So you cannot lose because Mccain lost, but you can lose if Obama turns out to be a good guy? Huh? |

So, if Obama turns out to be a great president, then "we the people" win, right? EXCEPT for McCain supporters, because what is good for the country, is obviously bad for THEM. So, following Leroy's logic, what is GOOD for McCain supporters is, by his own definition, BAD for the country. Which, ironically enough, was the exact point that we all were arguing against Leroy. You HAVE to love that logic! _________________ Peace and love. Peace and love. No more autographs. Peace and love. |

I think that is a really cool thing for you to say. Thank you for saying it.
EDIT: Oops! I read that wrong the first time! I thought you said "The only way we can lose is if BO turns out not to be a good guy after all"
When we play politics we divide ourselves into Us vs Them a little too often. We are all in this together, and disagreements aside, we still have to share this country, this world, this life with everybody else.
EDIT: The above paragraph still stands. |

James, that's what I thought too when I first skimmed my eyes across the post that is Leroy's. But reread it and lost any train of thought I was having.
I agree with your above paragraph, that we divide ourselves too often, even though I brought up the point that we need a loser in this thread- which we do because there was not a mature debate here, rather it was very heated and childish. So someone needs to learn a lesson from their loss. That's what losses are for. |
