Well, thats right. im starting a new project. It dosn't have a name yet but it does have somewhat of a plot.

you play as a cat-guy (currently unnamed) who the player finds in a tomb.

Who would do such crueltys to this friendly little guy?

none other then the evil group of high-assassins that call themselves the Sigma alliance. what are these crazy, crazy guys up too? who knows. but its not good.

Anyways, how this journal will work is ill post a few pics about my progress every friday. BUT! every OTHER friday ill post a form of media from it! (original soundtrack piece, playable demo, or mayby even a video trailer!)

Yeah. You've improved a lot and created a pretty appealing style.

My only issue is that it's difficult to perceive what's a wall and what's a floor, but otherwise you've improved a lot.

Olmin is awesome.

Yeah, some of the graphics are placeholders or something that still needs a bit editing. I'm really happy to hear that you guys think i'm improving. i'll probably update this later this week with more graphics just because of all the positive feedback im getting Big grin!

It looks great so far. Olmin = awesome. I wonder if he rolls from place to place or just sits there? Maybe he teleports.

11/14/08 11:30 PM

ive made several acomplishments in my game this week. One of them, being that ive brightened the hero's default palette. the dark one you all saw will be used when the hero is in dark places. Ive also made colorful palettes of Olmin which WILL be used in-game at one point.

aside from palette edits, ive made a new level, the first one, grassy way (Honestly cant think of a better name). In this new land theres 2 types of monsters. Rollers, which follow a path of thin grass and attack anything that stands in the way, and wanderers, which just go about doing their daily buisness until disturbed.

ive also added an optional boss, Ruby Demon. I dont want to give too much away about this because you really cant fight it until later in the game, but the rewards for fighting it will be, well, rewarding. ive got both concept art and pixel art of it and ill upload it probably tomarrow if my scanner decides to co-operate.

Lastly, i finally got a short 8 second loop of a song up! none other then Olmin's Theme!

http://www.castleparadox.com/songlist-display.php?song=324

Enjoy the song and screenshot guys, ill get that concept art up tomarrow.

Bai.

Your tree is incredible.

Your dark grass has too much contrast in the grass blades though. It is detracting from the rest of the scenery because it stands out so much.

Also, if that's supposed to be thick grass, consider clumping more grass together so that it is thicker looking. Actually, try doing this BEFORE adjusting the contrast, because clumping together grass might actually help the matter.

11/23/08

late journal entry.

not much happend this week. made some graphics, made some new codes, made some optional bosses. However, ill aim for a playable first level next friday. If it's not ready, though, I wont.

Graphic time!

new side of the town, unlocked after the first level.

Part of the first level, you have to open a watergate to release water down an empty riverbed. After accessing the computer that allowes you to do this, you learn the characters name; Del

First, don't save your pictures as JPGs. Don't do it. Use PNG if you're using MS Paint.

Second, that text is nearly unreadable due to the colors you're using, but JPG might be to blame for that, too.
