I'm so excited to be a part of this, I thought I'd share this with you guys.
I've been hired to write the soundtrack to this game: http://www.minerwars.com
The music director of this project has worked on (and recieved awards for) such things as the Descent series, the Freespace series, The Red Faction series as well as Red Faction Guerrilla (which he directed the recording of the skywalker symphony orchestra and was a contributing composer for 18 tracks), Summoner, Saints Row, and the Punisher.
The game itself looks fucking great, with a fully destructible environment, epic SP and MP, and gameplay ranging from economically driven mining space expeditions to space fighter combat, and there's a hint of some sort of alien conflict (what good space game doesn't have THAT?). It really looks to be the incredibly free-range experimental game I've been looking to compose for. And did I mention in two months time, when their demo is released, I'll be a full time employee with them??
The first piece I've written for "Keen Software House" is one I have felt more proud of than any other before it. It combines middle eastern styled rhythms, electronic drum mixes, with western cinematic orchestra and metal-fucking-guitar! I'd really love it if you guys listened to it: "No Man's Space", first track here: http://www.myspace.com/artimusbena
or here: http://www.castleparadox.com/songlist-display.php?song=439
After giving the CEO screens of my Eldardeen game, originally designed with the OHR, him and I discussed putting it on iphone
Been a great day for Bena. And to think my fetish for writing game soundtracks all started in humble CP I'll add more thoughts later
(p.s. vote on that track please if the mood suits you) _________________ SACRE BLEU!

Wow! That's super exciting!
How did the guy pick up your music? Did you approach them, or did they approach you?
I like your middle-Eastern beat 3/4 through.
Is the piece in 9? I keep hearing the beginning/middle as alternating bars of 4 and 5. _________________ Working on rain and cloud formation |

Forgot to mention the lead programmer on descent and freespace is joining the team as well :p
They posted an ad in the gamedev.net forums, which I've picked up five or six clients from in the past. I took one look at their trailer and I knew I had to apply.
The song is in 9 yes, except for oooone moment where it switches to 8. I've been playing around with odd and alternating signatures for a while now. _________________ SACRE BLEU!
