Joke

You're Steve. You begin waking up in a deserted camp site, after getting majorly drunk the night before with your girlfriend, Tracy. There's a note on the ground from Tracy, saying she has left Steve for this big butthole named Rob. Ouch! You leave the woods, only to find you're in(from what I think) a time several decades before you were previously in, and everything is just as messed up as before. Gah!

The graphics are over-all decent. Certin tiles(trees, tents, etc.) could be better, though. It's nice to see a person's first-time game have some nice graphics, especially when you can destinguish what each one is.^_^ The tiles fit the surrounding and music very well, but I'll get to the whole music in a bit. The battle backdrops were quite nice. The only one that I didn't really like was the cave backdrop, because I couldn't tell what everything was. The walkabouts are so-so, although it's kinda weird how Steve is not outlined, yet Gork is. The battle graphics look like blown up versions of the walkabouts, with not much more detail added to them, which wasn't my fav thing.

The music, although ripped, was very nice! I couldn't recognize several of them, so Chaos Nyte picked good ones to rip. There was one music that didn't fit in at all with it's surroundings, and it didn't really sound good in BAM form, either. This is the cave theme he has, which is also the bg music to "I saw the Sign", by Ace of Base(sp?). Besides that one music, everything seems to go along nicely.

Joke is actually quite fun! There's plenty of funny parts all throughout the game to keep it interesting. The battles were pretty unbalenced, though. The enemies took very very little from me(about 1), and I always took hunking large amounts from them. Another thing that really bugged me was the fact that Tracy's Cure spell didn't actually cure her, but attacked her instead. Chaos Nyte, if you plan to release another demo of Joke, I suggest you fix those things. Although the battles were unbalenced, the heros were still nicely destinguished, not only by looks, but by life and power and such.

There were more good things I mentioned than bad things, so obviously, this game is worth a download. More so for fun and laughs than a deep, intricate story of good vs. bad.

Scores:
Graphics: Decently done. Nicely destinguished, and a good use of colors. Could have been better, though.
7.0/10
Music: Nice! Placed in suiting places, and for the most part sounds good.(I counted off 0.5 for it being ripped)
8.5/10
Storyline: Not much as of yet.. No large enemies introduced as of yet. It's still nice, even though it' not a very serious game.
7.5/10
Gameplay: There were more good things than bad, but the few bad things out-weighed the good. Chaos Nyte, you must fix this!
6.0/10
Overall (Not an average score): One of the funniest games I've played yet. Worth your time.
8.0/10
