Runelind Saga - Pt I: The Quest Against Darkness |
 |
Runelind Part 1 is about a world called Runelind. Long ago, in Runelind, there was evil. Yes. Evil. However, 15 heroes stoped this evil. But in the process, they were exposed to so much evil, death, and destruction, they were divided into halves. There were the good, evil, and other forms. The evil forms was very hard to control and they could not seal it. Then they use the good forms to create a dark crystal to seal the evil forms. There were 15 different runes created to help seal the evil.
Many years, later, there were three heroes, revealed as friends. Silver, our big main destined hero who is a top-notch fighter. Calin, about the same as Silver, but not as stronger, but speedier. Aniko, the girl who is the mage of the three friends.
One night, it seems that Silver decided to visit his friend, Calin and his older brother on guard duty. That's when a mysterious man comes out of the west, and asks if he can spend the night. Calin decides to check in with the mayor. Upon Calin leaving, the man asks about their names. Then the mysterious man says something about "I've been waiting for a long time to see you..." Then he suddenly attacks Calin's brother! Then he attacks Silver, but fails and gets knocked out instead. The next day, they decide to check in on the mayor. So Silver heads off to talk to the mayor. But he turns out to be busy. So he heads off to talk to Aniko, east of his house. She won't come, so Silver checks back and the mayor is ready. They talk and it turns out that they are needed at the castle (Silver, Calin, and Aniko) so they leave the town, and head off to the east mountains....
They cross through the mountains, when a Manifest attempts to stop them. They beat it and head off into town. They head straight to the castle to find there are rock formations blocking the enterance. Then they hear a blacksmith person named Evia who can help them. After talking to her and making fun of her, they decide to take her secret passage to the castle and she decides to assist you. Near the end, Silver senses evil and they find two manifests and beat them. So they head into the castle, and they talk to the kings (one for the elves, and one for the humans) to find they have to help somebody in the forest, but they decide they to rest first, so they head off into the inn to sleep. Thats when the demo ends.....
Scores:
Graphics: The graphics are alright, there is a nice style to the graphics and I like the way he did it. However, enemy graphics stand to be improved. The backdrops are pretty good too. | 8.0/10.0 |
Music: Wow, the music fits really nicely into this game, and I really enjoyed it. I know some of it is ripped, but I'm not sure about some of them. | 9.0/10.0 |
Storyline: The person seems to have attempted to make a nice story, but the destined hero thing is kind of old. Even so, this person did seem to have given it a shot and the story focuses on runes and a new world... | 6.0/10.0 |
Gameplay: The battles are balanced quite well, but the manifest bosses can be beaten quite easily. There is a lot of plotscripting used and it is used well, like where you find Silver and the evil man fighting and the part where some guys casts fire. I found however, a lot of wall problems, like in the buildings and the cave. That should be fixed. A big complaint I have however is, there was only one save point in the entire game. There ought be more. | 8.0/10.0 |
Overall (Not an average score): This game was a fun half an hour for me, and it you can have fun too. Just improve the story and fix walls plus put more save points, and this game will be a lot better! | 8.5/10.0 |
