There are some good reviews being submitted to the review acception box that aren't getting any further than that. "Hey, Aeth, if they're pretty good, why aren't they getting posted?" It's simple: People don't upload screenshots for the review. Now, I'm going to put this pretty bluntly so you guys can figure it out:
SCREENSHOTS IN A REVIEW ARE NOT OPTIONAL.
If you don't add screenshots, don't post it. Anyone can take screenshots in the OHR, even you guys using Windows XP. It's not hard, just enter the game, find a good screenshot place, and tap F12. If you don't have an F12 key for some strange reason, then that is a slightly different story. What you should do is e-mail me and tell me that you are submitting a review but have no F12 key to take a screenshot. In that case, I will put up screenshots for you. However, I don't have the time to be doing that for every review that gets submitted that lacks screenshots, and frankly, I shouldn't have to. F12 works in Windows XP (even with debug keys turned off) - it saves the file as a bitmap with the RPG file's name and a number (e.g. if you're playing MAGIS.RPG, your screenshots will be MAGIS0.BMP, MAGIS1.BMP, etc.). Just load those into Photoshop, PSP, Paintbrush, etc. and convert them to GIFs (preferred, except in PSP3 because of the retarded way it handles the transparent colors) or JPGs. BMPs are better than nothing, but I'm encouraging GIF or JPG, or, hell, even PNG since it has more support now.
So, basically, upload some screenshots and don't cause your possibly good review to get dumped. Most reviews never get edited and fixed, which is a shame.
Thanks. _________________

I don't know if this is exactly on topic, but you can use the F12 button to take screenshots to help you edit your game and look at the way the battle graphics run if you take enough of em, to buff up weapon graphics and everything like that. It's about as useful as the F4 button! Hehe. _________________ ---------------Projects----

I intentionally don't put in screenshots when I first submit a review, because I always go back and edit a review before finishing it. Basically, if my review doesn't have screenshots, don't bother reading it yet. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Point taken, Shadowiii. Okay, guys, if you want to add screenshots after revising a review, that's fine. However, please put a note in the review somewhere indicating this. That way we will know your review is not yet completed, and therefore, whoever is looking over the reviews will skip it over. A better thing you could do is to write your review in Notepad, Wordpad, MS Word, anything, although you can do the former if you prefer that. It would help us out a lot, as we're not mind readers. :\ _________________

nonetheless, it seems like a valid response because pharo didnt know the feature of the OHR.
Better responding to an ancient thread than to post a brand new thread of the same topic.
and yeah, F12 basically saves a screenshot as a .bmp file. |
