I reckon some Anime's would make great rpg's, like cowboy bebop, or yugioh.
Has anyone ever though of making a game for the OHR based on an anime.
We should Have a section on this forum based on Anime or something similar. _________________ This is my signature |

I've yet to see an anime fan-game I could call remotely good (no offense if someone actually did make one, I'm sure I haven't see them all). I generally say it's better to make a game that uses your own plot. _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |

I suppose, but still, someone could make an anime rpg with their own general plot, just with added elements of the show. _________________ This is my signature |

I thought about making a Naruto fan game, but decided against it because of the following:
*There are only 22 episodes out at the time of this typing
*I like to take creative liberties when making games
*Generally, I frown on games based on movies/tv shows/books so it would be dumb for me to do it
*It wouldn't make a very good game _________________ You got film in my video game!

I've always thought of making a Yugioh game, but all the scripting required for battles is too complex for me _________________ This is my signature |

The only way I can see Yu-Gi-Oh as an RPG is if you base it off of the episodes in that virtual game thingy. Otherwise, no. I could possibly see a Cowboy Bebop one, and I think Inu Yasha is perfect for an RPG (they are releasing an Inu Yasha fighting game on PSX). _________________

A bubblegum crisis tokyou 2040 game could be good, but that may need real time fighting rather then turn-based. I think I might consider making a cowboy bebop game, but that would be best in first person.
That anime you suggested,Aeth... I've never heard of it.

Inu Yasha? It is a story about a modern-day girl who finds out she can use the well in her family's temple to go to the Feudal Era. She is able to do this because she possesses in her body the Shikon no Tama, a magical and powerful jewel. In the Feudal Era, she finds a half-demon named Inu Yasha who has been bound to a tree for 50 years (I could go into why, but that will make this longer than it needs to be). A full demon eventually shows up and takes the Shikon no Tama - the girl frees Inu Yasha (almost ignoring the pleas of everyone not to) and he destroys the demon. Inu Yasha also threatens to destroy the girl if she does not hand over the Shikon no Tama. However, one of the villagers, an elderly priestess named Kaede, puts a spell on Inu Yasha so that the girl can say "Sit!" and he will fall to the ground (this is really funny). Eventually, another demon tries to steal the Shikon no Tama - the girl learns of her skill with a bow and arrow (again, there is a reason why that I'd rather not go into) and snipes down the demon, but also shatters the Shikon no Tama. Now she is following Inu Yasha so that they can recover all the shards of the Shikon no Tama. Why does Inu Yasha want the jewel? He wishes to become a full demon.
You can download subtitled episodes, or it comes on Adult Swim Monday through Thursday nights. I'd just go ahead and watch the English ones, as the translation is very good and nothing is cut out (to my knowledge). However, they only have up to around episode 40 or so at the time (Inu Yasha is still currently being produced in Japan). _________________

Bubblegum Crisis would be cool. I loved that show, although we only got series one...
Then again, DBZ was turned into so many RPGs and they were all crap. Except maybe legacy of Goku, but that wasn't OHR. _________________ Missing in Action

I tried once to actually make a DBZ OHR game. I quickly realized that while the effort could have been worthwhile, DBZ RPGs typically end up being.. typical. Evil enemy appears, wrecks world, Goku and company search for the dragonballs, each with their own dungeon, wish for the world to be set right, and finally defeat the evil villain. actually, that formula works, but every time someone tries to do it, things go horribly horribly wrong. |

Let's just not release any more DBZ games, period. That means commercial games too. All of the ones I've played are bad, and I've heard bad things about all of the rest EXCEPT Budokai (the new one). _________________

That's funny, cuz I heard bad things about budokai also. Some say that it doesn't do that well a job as a fighting game, and the only good thing about it is the massive number of dbz characters. _________________ im realy ded |

Budokai is pretty good, mainly because of the 'transformation' part. _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |

Honestly, I have created an anime RPG with the intention of making it seem like an interactive anime show. It's called the Adventures of Hoshima. Actually, I'm trying to get Realm Manga to make a real anime series out of it. It's currently in debate. _________________
