In case you don't know about the Top 30, essentially it was a list of
the top 30 favorite games of the people of the community. We would
vote monthly(er, bimonthly :p) on which OHR games we like the best,
and the top 30 games would be listed in OHR Monthly, a now-defunct
magazine.
It seems to me that this is something the community would probably
enjoy having again. The main reason that I bring this up is that
I'm unsure as to what games the community, especially the newcomers,
enjoy the most.
Maybe we could vote monthly or bimonthly and the results could be
posted up somewhere on CP? It would be more efficient than putting
the top 30 in a magazine that never met its deadline(Although, OHR
Monthly always had good content).
Any takers? |

Ditto, but I think bi-monthly would be too often, monthly's better. |

I like the top 30 thing, but I think that 30 is all little bit too much... _________________ Yeah, I thought I was dead too.

Madhatter: Bi-monthly means every other month.
(Edit: Actually, after debating about it with Sew, I looked it up, and it can mean twice a month OR every other month, but I think JSH was referring to the latter.)
I like the idea, and I think monthly is best for it. _________________

fyre, being private again...
oh well, bimonthly or trimonthly would be a good time...
monthly is a bit short but can be done, if you're willing to that is. unless you're going to use CP's gamelist, which may be inaccurate. _________________ If we were a pack of dogs, IM would be a grand Hound, CN would be a very ficious little pitball, and Giz...well, it doesn't matter breed he is, he'd still be a bitch

Yeah! Top 30 sounds good to me! Heh... its a damn shame I don't even have my first game finished though. I mean not like I'd have a chance when looking at your dudes kickass games, but still... then I could at least be a part of the community!!! Hehehe. |

...personally, i wouldn't compare my own game with others'...
i mean, the amount of work the vets put into the game are most likely more intense work.
just do a game that will suffice your expectation, not someone else's.
the trick is to spend time working on it, while trying to improve your skills.
oh and of course, be original in story sense (if possible). nothing worse than a copied game with nothing to look forward to.
like FFH used the basic story of FF1, but added some furries and other character development, it's got even more "spice" to the game that way. _________________ If we were a pack of dogs, IM would be a grand Hound, CN would be a very ficious little pitball, and Giz...well, it doesn't matter breed he is, he'd still be a bitch

Walthros is my favourite. It had everything except music original. The storyline was unique, and it was pretty cool.
Also GTAHNC Was pretty cool, regardless of it's short gameplay, it was well done. Another good game was Ecopia. |

(I will have to dig in to walthros later. I am worried that is is a copy. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Please dont say TTLQuest is the same, as it was made first)
(And after diggin into it, I found that it has no similarity... SHew)
Sorry about the yelling... I am frightened. Well, anyway... I am looking forward to this ... Monthly/Bi-monthly top 30... Hopefully evryone will get a chance to be SOMEWHERE near the bottom... I would really hate to see the SAME games get elected every month... Well? Monthly, and even Bi-monthly would maybe force some people to rush. ANd I dont know mich, but will 30 games be hard to scrounge up? Hope not. I am looking forward to it. Dont let us down. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

COOL! I played it! I think it goes somewhere at my top 5 list. Cuz that is about all of the games I have tested.
PS: Sorry if that was confusing. I had to modify my post. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...
