Lumpfix isn't for corrupt files (like RPGfix is), it's for outdated files. THe problem is, games that old don't work properly when updated, so only an old game will work with them. |

why would i do that? magnus isn't corrupted. it's just old. |
Well I don't know, it might just fix your problem. |

It has recently come to my attention that I was wrong and got the two utilities mixed up. RPGfix is for old files, and Lumpfix is for corrupt files. Sorry for the mixup. |

yeouch! who bit your mr. happy on your way out of bed this morning?
but seriously, why would it occur to me to use a program intended to fix corrupt files on a file i already know isn't corrupted? give me a reasonable, logical answer, and i swear i will bow down and kiss your user handle. _________________ LJ.Art

Let's see.
1) When you load Magnus in an older GAME, it works. Barely.
2) When you RPGFIX Magnus, it doesn't work in a newer GAME. You just get a black screen.
3) One would conclude that the file is corrupted, and a run through LUMPFIX should fix the problem. If not, it's a lost cause, as the file was originally corrupted in the first place.
I mean seriously, did you even try? I don't have Magnus myself so I can't test it (or at least I can't find it on this hard drive). It's like complaining the ice cream store doesn't have a flavor you like when you haven't tried all the ice cream. |

I can't believe all the hype Magnus has got over the years...it could very well be the most talked about OHR game of all time...
*gets an evil review idea*

what exactly is your problem? for someone who isn't arguing, you're putting a lot of effort into making me look inferior. is someone who barely posts really that much of a treat to you? and the reason i don't believe magnus is corrupted is because i've SEEN corrupted files before, and LUMPFIX works wonders on them. magnus does not act like a corrupted file, it just acts like a file so old that the newer exes simply have no idea how to handle it. also, i have the benifit of knowing exactly where my burned copy of magnus came from... from rpgonline. i'm willing to wager that the file did not rewrite itself on the cd since then. corruption has nothing to do with it, the minor detail that james has rewritten the way just about everything is handled is a more probable cause.
and pot calling the kettle black! if you can't be bothered to locate a copy of magnus, don't bark at the people who have. or rather... one of the people since you ignored me's post and went straight to mine. i really don't think that a failure to think of trying to uncorrupt an uncorrupted file is all that comparable to complaining about missing ice cream flavors... more like not thinking of eating ice cream during winter. yelling at me for not trying it when you haven't looked at it is more like your ice cream example.
please, feel free to continue yelling at me. show everyone your hypocracy (probably misspelled, but i'm close to heading for my bed). i will take vindictive pleasure in countering your attempts to moronize me with proofs. the more you yell at me, the more you prove that (at least to my eyes) you have no self esteem and must rely upon the trodding of others to feel as if you're stepping up in the ohr community. and let me take the time to predict that you will deny doing exactly that. you'll claim you're just pointing out to me an error in my thinking, or that i should have exhausted all options before 'complaining about not being able to play magnus' (ugh, who'd want to?). you'll say you weren't looking for an argument and the way you stated your posts was in a perfectly reasonable tone if only i wasn't so hot headed and wasn't taking it too personally. and you'll say i'm over reacting to your statement. but concidering the venom you've coated your posts with, i think this is a fair trade.
once again, please, ignore my post, continue with the fortisimo dulcet tones, just to prove to everyone just what kind of dysfunctional family your id, ego, and superego have become. i think i will have much sadistic fun at your expense. _________________ LJ.Art

Congratulations on reading WAY too far into that post. You still haven't changed from the day you destroyed that art contest.
And barely posting thing has no point here... you have more than twice the posts I do. |

see? i predicted you'd say i over reacted. i still think it's a fair trade in venom.
and i beg to differ. I didn't destroy that contest. ben and his girlfriend did by first comparing my iq to that of a monkey when i couldn't find an email of someone i wanted to send a file to, and then saying i had gotten mad i wasn't winning that contest even before anyone had found out any results.
ah hah! do i detect a pattern? why, yes i do!
1- get your facts straight before you accuse people. it just sounds stupid when you do it with magnus, and it sounds stupid when you do it with that old charracter contest.
2- quit insulting my intelligence. i don't take it well (obviously) and i never will.
3- again... please, continue to yell. this is quite fun in a malevolent, sadistic, evil, nazi witch doctor kind of way. i quite enjoy countering your half formed accusations. _________________ LJ.Art

Just because you predicted something doesn't mean you have a point. Now you're just trying to shove me into a "damned if I do, damned if I don't" situation, which is the only way you can gain upper ground. You've just resorted to CN style argument (attacking the person and not the argument) and fired the first shot. I don't play this game. |

You're the only one making threats in this thread. Let this be your last. |
