Earlier today I took a break from writing to go to the park near my apartment to chill out for awhile. After taking a couple laps around the lake, I walked over to the mall next door to see what new toys were available. Every once in awhile I like to see what new computer games came out (that are too powerful for my system) and wonder if there's some off-chance that I'd be able to make it work somehow should I decide to buy it. Of course I'm not that frivolous with my cash, so my latest discoveries stay in the store for another day, but it's addictive to look anyway.
Today I came across a game that intrigued me because it carried the same turn-based system that X-Com and Jagged Alliance have (read my post in the turn-based thread to learn more about my opinion on these types of games). Even more intriguing was the fact that it took place in a cyberpunk era, an environment that I also enjoy visiting in games from time to time. Because it had two major positive things going for it, I decided that I would add it to my list of possible future investments.
But before I buy anything these days, I try to check out the review first to make sure that it's worth my time and money. Often times what I expect to be fairly decent turns out not to be so. This game, called Paradise Cracked, is the perfect example of why I find myself checking reviews more often than I used to:

I'm showing this to you guys because even professional games occasionally make OHR newbie mistakes, and I figure that to see a professional reviewer dog a professional game for the same problems that we find in a majority of OHR games may help in curbing the nonsense that we include into our own.
Anyway, read it for kicks. I found it funny how closely this review models our own bad comments about the standard newbie games, if not a little disturbing at the same time.
By the way, most games on this site average at around 7.0 or higher. _________________ Progress Report:

That is pretty interesting. It does accurately model our own reviews and comments, but OHR games with large mistakes also come around a lot more often than professional games do.
[sarcasm] And I'm the one who wrote that Paradise Cracked review, Pepsi. [/sarcasm] _________________
