Im kinda impatient about graphics so i always end up quiting with frustration. So i was wondering if anyone wanted to make a small game with me. I need someone that can make graphics and/or can plotscript without crashing the game So itd be nice to just make a little project for the fun of it. And im only 13 so i cant do anything major
and itd be nice to have someone around my age to help me no offense
but id just feel more comfortable and i wouldnt feel so outstaged. But like i said it would be fun to make a little rpg with some one. But remeber this...
I CANT MAKE GRAPHICS OR SCRIPTS WORTH CRAP!!! lol |

...so, you want someone that can do 90% of the RPG..?
practicing your skills in making graphics is a better option, don't worry about being outstaged... everyone has been once in their lifetime(including that rich #@$@#$ bill gates).
scripts, i can understand a little, still don't see why you don't try work out why they don't work, or ask someone for help... we're open to help you out with problems, it'll be hard to find someone to help you out like that though... _________________ If we were a pack of dogs, IM would be a grand Hound, CN would be a very ficious little pitball, and Giz...well, it doesn't matter breed he is, he'd still be a bitch
(no offense to anyone that was mentioned) |

Well Graphics arent 90% of the rpg. Its all about even. Although graphics are hard and time consuming it would be much faster if there was 2 people working on that. I found a plotscripter so all i need now is someone in graphics. And if we cant find some one good at graphics then i could
always give it my best shot but i havent been good with art or graphics
for a long itme. But its something ot perfect i guese. |

I agree with Flamer. Although it doesn't seem like it to you, you're asking an awful lot. Graphics are a lot more than you think they are in a game and asking someone to do that and the scripting is a waste of someone's time personally. You should work together at least. But for your first game I'd say it's important to do it yourself. You'll thank yourself later. _________________ ---------------Projects----

Well anything really, I guese we could all talk it out. I have a plotscripter right now so al i needed was someone to help with graphics. Im a Final Fantasy guy myself, so those kinds of games are alright. Sci-fi is a kind of game that i wish was never born!!! not. but i think a fantasy type of game would be cool. |

First of all, let me ask a question: If you're not doing the graphics, and you're not doing the plotscripting, what precisely are you doing?
And secondly, yes, you are 13, but that's no reason not to do something major. Keep practicing. You're no worse then any one else who's starting to make games, regardless of age. |

There's a lot more than graphics and plotscripting, Giz, it's just they don't take as much work and time. Making maps takes ages, too.
For the record, I'm 13, and I'm one of the best artists around here. You don't see me using that as an excuse for my lack of talent or terrible grammar. Please, improve your grammar for the sake of everyone's eyes.
Also, don't try to copy Final Fantasy games(or any games). That's a way to come up with bad design. If you want to "copy" FF, then at least improve its systems. Silver Eclipse, for example, makes EVERY move a necessity. If anyone's played the first battle, then they'll know what I mean. |

*cough*arrogant*cough*
map design is easy, especially when you've planned it out on pen and paper.
the only other tough job that needs to be planned is, battle balance. coz you need to consider every enemy and hero created for battle. plus, battle balance needs to also consider the size of the map.
of course, i have seen very few games with a well planned battle balance. if you give the two "main" jobs to someone, make sure you also do a good job in map design and battle balance, and i'm sure a few more people will gladly help out (if you do a good job of it). _________________ If we were a pack of dogs, IM would be a grand Hound, CN would be a very ficious little pitball, and Giz...well, it doesn't matter breed he is, he'd still be a bitch

You're calling me arrogant, right? Because if you are then I'll slap you. I was only stating an example. |

Plotscripting isn't really one of the two main jobs... unless of course your doing something complicated that takes ages to debug, or the game itself a plotscripted 'minigame'..
Sticking together maps can take a very long time, especailly on large or high detail maps. Every tile is like drawing a pixel. Planning the maps is included in the time it takes to do them.
And playtesting and balancing battles is the other large feild. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

No, that's me telling them that using their age as an excuse for things they aren't good at is a bad excuse. It would make sense if it was something like.. say.. driving. Their grammar, though, has so many errors in things I learned in elementary school. Punctuation and spelling are simple. |

Personally, Cloud, I think that there's more to an RPG than just graphics. But, if that's the way you want to start, I guess you could learn more things to focus on once you're finished with your first project. _________________
