Addendum: Full resolution

Feb 17:
Critique, suggestions, etc welcome. Work in progress.
Painting in OpenCanvas 3.0, an amazing program from PortalGraphics.

Feb 18:
Fixed a few inconsistencies. Attempting to flesh out different techniques. I wish I had more experience to play off of. White background removed, as I despise them.

Feb 22:
Finding time between projects at work and whatnot to continue this. Eyes returned to bulging and eerily staring off into nothing. Adding detail to the teddy bear, and reshaped the skullcap. Added tendrils to connect skullcap to skull, so one doesn't assume it's merely a half-coconut, or somesuch. Reshaped a cheekbone, etc etc.

Feb 25:
Almost-final version. Some minor tweaks I need to work on remain, but it's damn near final.

-Thanks for all the comments and whatnot so far.

Feb 29:
Final. I tire of tweaking an image so much, and not dedicating my time to new projects. Thanks for the commentary and critique, and I hope you enjoy the final result. Minor tweaks were done, etc etc.

This picture is more disturbing than watching a thousand babies die horrible flaming deaths. What?!?!

Awesome work. Big grin

His hair could use more detail, and so could the teddy-bear, but I'm assuming that's why you meant by "work in progress." Otherwise, I really don't see anything wrong with it.

That detail is awsome! The shading almost makes it look real! What in blazes is it? ... Is that the bear's brain it is munching on? Really confused

Looks like the thing that I can scare little children with. :flamedevil:

That is one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen. Disturbingly AWESOME, that is.
Barring the obviously unfinished bits, the only thing I would say is make the chest hair more . . . more ugly, I guess. Right now it looks kind of fuzzy, and with such a character I would want more greasy, curly, pubic-hairlike chest hair.

that's a good picture, his tongue looks a bit misaligned though, it looks like it's coming from the right side of his cheek rather than from his throat (near centre).
but that's probably intentional Big grin

Man, good to see you again bud!
Seems like youve taking your rendering up a notch, looks really nice!
as for the picture I think that the character is slightly unbalanced and would prolly fall on his ass, maybe if you pushed the left leg more to the side it will support his weight a bit more.
The painting job on the face is brill, just give the rest the same treatment and you'll have a winner.
Talk to you later
