Fenrir, you have opened my life into a whole new dimension! Type the entry into MS word, then copy it and paste the spell-checked version into the post. Problems are solved! And all we did was add two more steps to the posting process.

Don't make a reputation for yourself as a person who people can't understand. If you do, then everyone will ignore you. It is kind of like the boy who cried wolf. When people come to expect something, they don't think twice about it. It’s only Human nature, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Ya know, as long as a post is legible, enforcing grammar, spelling , and punctuation on people will only create unneeded conflict on a forum.

Unless someone is being flagrant with their misuse of the English language by typing in all l33tsp34k or constantly using "u", "r", "k" and such, I see no reason for there to be any attention brought to anyone's posts. And even if that is the case, it would probably just be best to handle it via PM, IM, or IRC.

At least, that is what I think.

I think some grammer mistakes would be ok, it gives a certain human character to it and such... hmm but then again , too much of anything is bad, o well.

I like to post with proper grammar and spelling, because it's courteous. Some choose not to, and that's ok (imo), as long as we can understand what the hell you're saying. The spoken language has undergone many changes over time, and so has the written language, so who's to say what's right, and what's wrong? Journalists, that's who. I happen to know a journalist, and we discussed this very issue of using proper grammar and spelling online. She made several good points, but the best one being that the only time you really have to use proper grammar and spelling is on papers, and if you write for a living. (writer, journalist, editor, etc.) I'd like to try to enforce proper grammar and spelling in posts, but I just don't think it's possible.
