It has come to my attention that Halloween Quest 2 is pretty good at the state it's in now. My question to you people, the people of Castle Paradox is whether or not I should upload it to CP or not. Would you rather get a 30% demo now, or wait a few more months and just get it all at once. _________________ ---------------Projects----

I thought you said you make games for your own personal fun. Why don't you just release it when you want to. |

I also like feedback too. The more feedback I get and the more ideas I get from the HQ fans the better the game can be for all. And I do make it for my own personal fun, but I enjoy the fact that other people are playing a game I worked hard on. _________________ ---------------Projects----

I agree with Wiz, but personally, I'd like to see the wole finished game at once. But it's up to you.. if you want to stir up some anticipation, release a demo. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

I'll make my final decision when the poll's time is over. Until then, I guess I'll just keep working on it and wait for the poll. It won't be a big part of my decision, but it will be something that determines whether I post it or not. Okay, heh, that is a big part. Heh. _________________ ---------------Projects----

It almost could go both ways, so let me try and help you out. You should do what makes the most sense to you. Let's take a look at a possible outcome from each side.
If you release the game early (as a demo)
~We will like it or some might not like it as it is then.
~Suggestions and bug reports can be made.
~The next release (the full version) of the game would be better.
~However, the full version will not be as spectacular because it won't be a surprise to those who saw the sneak preview of it. And if this is for this year's Halloween contest (Which I feel safe in assuming so) that is not a good thing for voting.
If you Waited
~We might like it more.
~Making us wait... Need I say more? Waiting blows.
~You have to do all of the bug testing that could be done by the adoring public.
~Don't you like surprises? Pop out of the closet and say "LOOK AT WHAT I CREATED JUST FOR NOW!" And watch us run for cover.
I don't know... Both ways have their advantages and perks. You should let a few people get the sneak preview so they can help locate bugs. Select 3 volunteers or something. But that might not be fair to some people who are... Not patient... The catch is early birds have to look for bugs? It's your game. The choice is not too tough... Sort of.
PS: If you didn't get what I was trying to say there, it is because I am typing quietly and very nervously. Dad is on the prowl... PM me for claryfication. Thank you for reading this... _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

I would like to see a demo. Always in the mood for good games to be released, plus you'd have some feedback before the final. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Alright Shadowiii, if I don't release it on CP, then I'll make sure you're one of the people to get a copy. Already someone else has and has been giving me feedback, but it's like writing a book, having lots of people proofread it can help suggest things for it and point out the things the creator didn't notice. _________________ ---------------Projects----

Perhaps we need an additional usergroup, testers. They would recieve demos of games and give feedback, organize hype etc. This way the public would not have their experience wreaked by playing a demo that ends abruptly and has bugs. Entry to this user group would probably have to be based on the number of accepted reviews that the candidate has written so that not everyone can enter just for the sake of playing games early.

You know Junahu, that's the only good idea I've ever heard from you.

Very cruel, but then again it's you MCW. There's one problem with the tester usergroup. First of all, it's gonna be open to people who make games, and then those who play them. Therefore, with with everyone loving the idea of getting positive/negative feedback, everyone would want it. And once everyone wants it, it ends up to be just like the regular CP boards. _________________ ---------------Projects----

Don't be a pussy. That's not cruel.
Besides, your explanation doesn't work because the forum has no planning done yet, and until it does you need to wait until you should call that stupid. |

Just think about it for a second Wiz. When a kid buys candy and he gives some to a kid, everyone who sees that wants some right? And the people that see the people get candy because of the kid want some. And it's an endless pattern. It's the same with the tester usergroup idea. It'll be like CP inside of CP. That's why I think it's stupid. You could easily make a new thread in one of the threads to discuss it. _________________ ---------------Projects----

Planning, Red. This isn't planned yet, so we don't know how it'll work.
For the record, I'd prefer using a livejournal community instead of a CP board.
