I now posted a new game, in my opinion, i'm too a better start than that wreck-of-a game "To be a Hero" Oookay... This is called Kitsune, it's about this kid...gosh I can't say much about it. 75% done and will be fairly short, but I really really like the story (especially the end) please tell me if you like it thus far Happy

I played this game for about fifteen minutes, and I'll just say what I think so far.

It's not that bad; it could be a good game with some work.

You need to work on the graphics; they're kind of choppy all around. I'd suggest getting rid of all of the engine-packed music since it doesn't sound very good. Also, PLEASE change the battle theme- it's very annoying. Do not draw a map in paint and then upload it as a tileset- it looks incredibly awkward. The sister's house, while it was interesting, was just very strange looking. As a rule of thumb, if it's 100% obvious how something is drawn while playing the game, it needs to be redrawn.

The story seemed to be OK, except I didn't understand why the hunter could detect the girl's "powers." You need to spellcheck this game. There were lots of spelling and grammar errors. Also, it's best to separate character dialogue to different text boxes for each character.

I recommend playing the game and fixing all of the 'little errors' that are blatant. For instance, sometimes you can see text under where the text box crops.

Lower the random encounter rates; a battle every 3-4 steps is very annoying. (Of course, I normally suggest losing random encounters all together) The main character is not very interesting in battle. I would suggest giving him a few skills that fit his personality/fighting style. Doesn't have to be anything huge, but a character that can only attack is usually kind of dull... (Unless he's the only one that can attack)

Finally, try to learn some plotscripting to improve the story scenes. You don't have to learn anything difficult, as far as I can tell. Walking/text box commands should be enough for this game from what I can tell.

You're on the right track: The OHR is best for very short RPGs like this, and this game could shine if you work on it a little. The BIGGEST plus you could add at this point is plotscripting.

Ok, hope that helps.

Don't worry about it, everyone's new at some point. You're off to a better start than 60% of newcomers, too. Just keep working on it.
