I have gotten a lot of ideas of Cameo appearances from various SquareSoft games. Not only Final Fantasy s but others.

What do you mean? As in, having Squaresoft cameos in your game (ex. Terra selling magic pendants, Crono being a travelling salesman, ) or something else?

I'm uh... not sure how to respond to that first post there. But I think too many cameo appearances could get annoying and take away from the actual plot of the game. A few PROBABLY won't hurt anything, though.

In case anyone here is not aware of this, Squaresoft merged with another company to form the new company Square Enix.

And your post is confusing Eggie; I have no way of answering your question, if there is one there.

I'm very hopeful that no one didn't know about the merger, but people still refer to Square games as... Square games. Although the companies merged, they still work seperately. And the other company was, obviously, Enix.

I am wondering, with all the ripping that goes on here****COUGH*****SETH**** why aren't companies like Square Soft sueing us for the theft of intelectual property???

And why would you have guest appearances on games.

...well, listing 1300 downloads on a resume looked pretty damn good. SO I suppose some INDIRECT profit was made. Besides, all the cameos I've seen have been works of parody in one form or another.

That and we all know Hironobu Sakaguchi chose Garland from FF1 as his favorite villain of all his games simply because he reads 8-bit Theatre.

Cameos from your other games (if you have any), adding personal jokes, and putting yourself in your game!

Putting FF characters in...doesn't make it yours anymore. I've said this hundreds of times; and I'll keep on saying it. It takes away from originality.

Cameo.... Good stuff.
I have cameos sometime in what I write fro people from my diffrent storys. There's nothing wrong with it. It's as long as someone doesn't take it over-board ( AkA Having them join your partyor having them appear more than once.) it's fine.

Cameos and others. I mean using stuff from games already made and putting them in. Like Summons, and stuff like that. Mythril, Adament. Stuff.

Of course I use summons and mythril, but in my games, but I make them my own. I take, for example, something you could call Summons and change them to "Chips"

I am simply inspired from other games to incorporate the stuff that was already there into my own formula.

Shadowiii also made a good point about how fun it is to have characters from pervious games guest start in new ones. That also goes for similar swords and armor as well.
