Shrug. I'm inconsistent.
I'll be the first to admit that I lack skill where I'm big on style.

I like them. Feather is in a different pose than how you usually draw your characters, which is neat. The self-portrait is awesome. As always, good job on the clothing.

Feather's Asian?
. . .
I was supposed to know that, wasn't I.
Yes, she does look it now.

HA HA!
See how poorly I've shown it in the past?

But, yes, her mum was Japanese. Her dad was a Cockney, which is why she talks like a Londoner and has naturally blonde hair (DYED BLACK, OF COURSE), but, other than that, she's Asian.

I've said before that characterization is shown through dialogue, so here's an example of Feather.

Yeah, I know, I need to draw someone else.

Style is better than skill any day of the week!

And when it comes to style, that self portrait of yours is eleven kinds of stylish, including four previously undescribed by science.

James, that's like, the third time you've used that phrase.

That is X kinds of (adjective), including Y (previously undescribed by science|unknowable by man)

I over-use this phrase way to much. It is like my favorite compliment. I say it in regular conversation. It makes strangers look at me funny.

Oh, and X is a random number from 11 to 17 and Y is a a random number between 3 and 6, and the value of the numbers does not neccisarraly reflect the relative (adjective)ness between different things I use the phrase on, the numbers are just selected however they flow most naturally in the rhythm of the sentence

(sorry to shatter the mystery, Uncommon, I didn't actually count the kinds of stylish, I just estimated, and after some research, I found that NASA recently announced that one of those kinds of stylishness is found naturally occuring in *very* small quantities in the inner rings of Saturn, but my compliment stands as originally intended.)

Thanks a bunch.
It's true that style can be really awesome, but skill, I should like to think, is still very necessary or real art. That's why the last picture isn't at my usual 3/4 angle and is in an actual pose. Fun, fun. I like to work on making myself flexible.

Next picture should explore interaction between different persons. Hopefully not too badly at that.

It takes experience to get skill, and style is a great accellerator of experience.

Well, I suppose I've been focusing on style the last 11 years.
I figure it's about time to work on skill.
