It depends on what you're asking. If you want to find completed maptiles that you can yoink and put into your game, then that's kind of hard to do. It's pretty easy if you have experience with graphic editors and stuff, but it's generally looked down upon in the community anyway.
I know you think that there's some sort of graphics tutorial that will make you a fantastic maptile artist, but the truth is, while there are good ones out there, the best thing you can do is to just practice. Take note on how things in the world actually look. Look at other OHR games with great graphics (my suggestions: FFH, Timestream Saga, Crescent Dream, Wandering Hamster) and try to replicate their techniques. Note I said replicate their techniques, not their tiles.
That said, this link will inevitably get posted if I don't do it, so here's a great spriting tutorial site: CLICK IT. But seriously, just observe and experiment for a while. _________________ You got film in my video game!

FFH and Timestream Saga don't have original maptiles. Their areas are almost completely composed of ripped graphics from final fantasy titles. o.O |

Well there are two or three sets in both games that ARE original maptiles, so I guess I've got all of you fooled into thinking there aren't any. Except hes looking for walkabouts, and not maptiles.
The best advice I can give is to use every color your palette allows (15 colors) per sprite, make the head roughly 40-50% of your sprite's height, and try to put a dark or black outline around your walkabouts so they show up better. So many OHR games don't do this, where they'd look twice as good if they did. |

I was only commenting on the fact that Squall infered that the maptiles of TSS and FFH were originals. On that note, I'd like to appologize, as I didnt realize that there were any original maptiles in these titles. Honestly, I never finished either game, and since the first few areas in each are composed of Final Fantasy 1(remake) and Final Fantasy 5 graphics, I never got the chance to see your original tilesets. On the plus side, your walkabouts are very nice Fenrir, Almost on par with AdrianX's, and would make great examples of how walkabouts should be done. (Since thats what GamerCassie was asking fo anyway.) |

No, my fault. I kept on typing 'maptiles' when I meant 'walkabouts'. Ah well, it doesn't really matter anyway. _________________ You got film in my video game!

Stop has an interesting set of emotions for each npc. The file is unpassworded (as are all my games) so feel free to take a look if you wish.
I believe TSSE is unpassworded as well, it has great NPCs too.
And the tutorial Squall linked you too rocks. Use it! _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

I didn't think that anyone else knew about Tsugumo's pixel tutorial. It really is awesome, but I got captivated in the Secret of Mana 3 pictures and now I want to create a game that looks as good as it( never going to happen.) (Wow! My first emoticon!)
Edit: Just so you know, TSSE, FFH-2, Time Flies are all unpassworded and are great for learning sprite things(the Ultima Weapon is awesome! Will it be used in the game?). On a side note, Fenrir-Lunaris, what is Seraph's music, I love it. _________________ Calehay |

Seraph's theme comes from the Mysidia Tower from Final Fantasy II, a unique game that people either love, or love to hate. The specific file can be found here.
As a side note, I'll be unpasswording FFH when I release the soul of chaos expansion for it |

I always wanted to import walkabout in my game... but that pallette setting thingy just never worked out.
I could draw some if you want, then you can (if you can) import them... _________________
